Vegas Play of the Day: Chicago Bulls vs. Phoenix Suns

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have restarted with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Chicago Bulls plus-4 vs. Phoenix Suns: $330 to win $300

Based strictly on performance, neither the Bulls nor the Suns should be favored by more than one possession over one another. They’ve had similar experiences in the Summer League, winning three games while getting blown out in one.

The Bulls avenged their blowout, however, by slipping past the Raptors in the last round. They have one extra loss, but it was a one-point game against the Nets that could have gone either way.

The Suns have the more exciting guards with the trio of T.J. Warren, Devin Booker and Archie Goodwin proving tough to contain but the Bulls’ front line has proven formidable. Cameron Bairstow and Bobby Portis aren’t surrendering easy looks around the basket, while getting plenty of their own.

Second-year man Doug McDermott has also been one of the summer league’s best scorers. Most Summer League games have featured shorter lines with several games at minus-1 or 2.

Maybe Chicago should be the slight underdog, but even in that case, it’s getting a couple points of value.
