Vegas Play of the Day: Stanley Cup Finals Game 3

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Chicago Blackhawks minus-1.5 goals plus-185 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning: $400 to win $740

Whatever it was that pulled Lightning goalie Ben Bishop away from Game 2 in the third period — whether it was injury or nature calling — I’d take some more absences tonight in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals as I’m going with the home team to take a 2-1 series lead with at least a two-goal victory.

To me there wasn’t a whole lot of value in Chicago moneyline at minus-170 so I’m looking for the blowout, of which I expect they’ll be at least two in this series. Tampa Bay has shown a propensity for blowups throughout the playoffs and as good as the Lightning are I think that weakness is something they won’t be able to avoid against an attacking team like Chicago.
