Vegas Play of the Day: Giants at Dodgers

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

San Francisco Giants plus-150 at Los Angeles Dodgers: $400 to win $600: San Francisco starter Tim Lincecum pitched seven shutout inning May 20 against the Dodgers, striking out seven batters and surrendering just three hits. Brett Anderson has been surprisingly solid for the Dodgers all season, but he lasted only 4 and 2.3 innings April 27 against the Dodgers after surrendering five hits and three runs.

It’s an attractive Sunday Night Baseball game because the Giants and Dodgers are battling each other in the tight National League West standings. The teams are also rivals, which should dictate a closely contested game. Always wager on the underdog in baseball games expected to be close because they pay better if you cash a ticket.

Plus, Lincecum is usually solid against the Dodgers.
