The only Division I team without a conference affiliation, NJIT opens up CIT play tonight at home against New Hampshire. The Highlanders have been campaigning to get into a league all season, using games like their upset at Michigan to state their case on a national level.
The longer they play, even in a tournament that almost no one knows is happening, the longer they keep their name out there heading into the offseason. The Highlanders might be the better team anyway, so add in the extra motivation, and I’ll go with the home team.
