Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah grabs a defensive rebound against the Charlotte Hornets during the second half of an NBA basketball game, Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, in Chicago. The Bulls won 102-97.

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have re-started with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Chicago Bulls minus-6.5 vs. Indiana Pacers: $330 to win $300

The Pacers have gone 6-1 straight-up and against the spread over the last two weeks. But in all of those games, they had a veteran point guard.

They won’t tonight in the second game of a back-to-back as starter George Hill is nursing a respiratory infection with Rodney Stuckey already out with an ankle injury. Second-round draft pick Joseph Young, a sharpshooter out of Oregon, now tops the depth chart.

Indiana might be able to get by against one of the league’s lesser teams, but Chicago remains one of the Eastern Conference’s best. The Bulls haven’t shot well early in the season, ranking 20th in the NBA with a .432 field goal percentage, but that will turn around in time.

Indiana isn’t as great as its recent run indicates, anyway. The Pacers lost three straight to start the season by more than 10 points per game before heating up.

They’re probably somewhere in between that team that struggled early and the one that’s soared lately, but trending more towards the former with injury concerns.
