Vegas Play of the Day: South Carolina vs. DePaul

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have re-started with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

South Carolina minus-5.5 vs. DePaul, $440 to win $400: I’m a firm believer South Carolina will be the most improved team in the Southeastern Conference this season. It might even make the NCAA Tournament. While it’s a small sample size, and the opponents weren’t anything special, South Carolina averaged 84 points in its initial two games of the season.

DePaul will have no answers on the inside Laimonas Chatkevicius, South Carolina’s 6 foot 11 post player who is averaging 20 points per game. And guard Duane Notice is a veteran in the backcourt who will impact the game with his playmaking ability and smarts.

DePaul is still trying to find its way with a first-year head coach, and made just 15-percent of its 3-pointers last week in a loss to Penn State.
