Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman warms up before the start of an NFL football game between the St. Louis Rams and the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, in St. Louis.

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have restarted with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Seattle Seahawks minus-6.5 at San Francisco 49ers: $550 to win $500

Everyone is pointing out that these NFC West divisional rivals come into their first meeting of the season with the same 2-4 record. That’s cute, but means absolutely nothing.

The quality of the two teams couldn’t be much different. It would be unsurprising if Seattle was the last team standing in the NFC for the third straight year. It would also be unsurprising if San Francisco finished with the worst record in the conference.

Let’s, for argument’s sake, say overwhelming odds didn’t conspire to sink the Seahawks in all three of their games decided by less than a touchdown this year. Even if they only escaped in one or two of them, this line might be trending towards minus-10.

It might be closer to where it belongs. Seattle has an edge over San Francisco in virtually every facet of the game.

Less than a touchdown asking price is reasonable.
