Los Angeles Angels plus-180 at Chicago Cubs: $500 to win $900
In the unofficial history of the Sun’s Play of the Day, there’s never been a day when all three of us were above our starting bankroll of $10,000. That doesn’t say much for us, but with a victory today, that extremely low bar is exactly what we’ll clear.
To get there, we’re going to need a big upset, because I decided to eschew colleague Ray Brewer’s advice to play a safe total, and I’m taking a shot with a team on a five-game losing streak.
The Cubs have won eight straight and 11 of 12. They are by far the better team, but every once in awhile, they’re going to drop one, and I think today’s a good one to take a shot.
This is a quick two-game series with the Angels before the St. Louis Cardinals come into Chicago on Thursday, and whether or not the Cubs will look ahead or not, I feel like I can get lucky with LA today.
