We’re entering the third season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won the 2015-2016 season, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015. Bern stepped away in the middle of the 2016-2017 season with a 16-12 record and $13,317 bankroll, with Mike Grimala taking his place.

Phoenix Suns plus-9 vs. Toronto Raptors: $330 to win $300

Phoenix is just frisky enough to make Toronto pay for the all-out effort it expended in making a game at Golden State on Wednesday night competitive. The Raptors fell into a 42-17 hole in the first quarter at Golden State but battled back to within five before falling 121-111 as 9.5-point underdogs.

Their starters played extended minutes and should have heavy legs tonight at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Phoenix had its own road game last night against a western conference power.

The Suns lost 119-98 at San Antonio as 11.5-point underdogs, but they seemed resigned to their fate early. None of their starters played more than 30 minutes.

They should be the fresher team tonight, which could make for them hanging with the Raptors for longer than expected. The Suns are tied for the worst record in the west, but they have a lot of young talent.

Players like Devin Booker, T.J. Warren and Dragan Bender are positioned for success tonight. They shouldn’t get blown out against a team that’s coming in worn out.

Current Standings: Keefer (30-22-2, $11,011), Brewer (21-17-1, $10,645), Grimala (2-2, $10,000), Granger (4-8, $6,550)
