Vegas Play of the Day: Virginia Tech at Notre Dame

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have re-started with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Virginia Tech plus-13 at Notre Dame, $660 to win $600: Virginia Tech has won four of its last five games straight up, including a tough 1-point victory this past weekend at Georgia Tech as 8-point betting underdogs. They are the surprise team of the ACC with a 4-1 record, beating the likes of more-established Virginia and Wake Forest.

Notre Dame is clearly the better team and won at Duke in its last outing. I doubt, however, they’ll bring the same intensity tonight against a lesser opponent. The Irish will win, but they won’t cover. They’ll have a letdown.

Make sure to get on the Virginia Tech bandwagon before oddsmakers wise up and start adjusting the lines.
