Vegas Play of Day: Louisville at Georgia Tech

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have re-started with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Georgia Tech plus-7 vs Louisville, $440 to win $400: Louisville is one of the most overrated teams in college basketball. While the 17th-ranked Cardinals have a 15-3 record, it’s misleading. They have played in just four true road games, posting a 1-3 record. And when the teams met in Atlanta last season, Louisville escaped with a one-point victory.

Georgia Tech is just 1-4 in ACC games, but none of the defeats have come by more than eight points. The Yellow Jackets don’t need to learn how to finish games — they simply need to again keep it close to cover the betting number.

Louisville has played stingy defense in its recent games, including limiting Pittsburgh to 41 points. But if the pace is again slowed, it will play into Georgia Tech’s favor. Georgia Tech doesn’t have the guards to run with Louisville, but has a size advantage in the post to keep the score close in a halfcourt game.
