We’re entering the third season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.
Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won the 2015-2016 season, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.
Pittsburgh Pirates at St. Louis Cardinals under-8.5 runs at even: $400 to win $400
The high-scoring Cardinals are on a bit of an offensive drought, scoring two runs in four of their last eight games. It still says a lot about an offense when you can count on putting a couple of runs on the board, but it’s as good a time as any to try to capitalize on their lower scoring.
Pittsburgh starter Jeff Locke has been shelled many times this season, but he enters today’s game on a decent three-game stretch that has lowered his ERA from about 6 to the low 5s. It’s not great, but it might be enough to keep this at eight of fewer runs.
Current Standings: Keefer (3-0, $11,261), Bern (0-0, $10,000), Brewer (0-2, $8,930)
