Vegas Play of the Day: Calgary Stampeders at Winnipeg Blue Bombers

We’re entering the third season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won the 2015-2016 season, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.

Calgary Stampeders at Winnipeg Blue Bombers over 50 points: $330 to win $300

Winnipeg’s final scores have somehow clouded how lousy it’s played on defense this season. The Blue Bombers have benefited from turnover luck to keep their scores respectable, even though they’re clearly one of the weakest teams in the CFL.

That’s not going to work forever and probably isn’t something the team can rely on tonight against the Stampeders. Calgary storms into Investors Group Field off of a bye week and having already beaten Winnipeg once this season.

The Stampeders will put up points. The question is if they can cover a spread of 5 points, which is high for a road team, even if they have a clear advantage.

Winnipeg gained 7 yards per play in its 36-22 loss at Calgary a few weeks ago. It’s the Blue Bombers’ lone game to go over this season.

They should add a second after tonight.

Current Standings: Keefer (3-1, $10,260), Bern (0-2, $9,200), Brewer (1-4, $8,700)
