We’re entering the third season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.
Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won the 2015-2016 season, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.
Chicago Cubs minus-1.5 runs at minus-115 at Chicago White Sox: $460 to win $400
The Cubs just bolstered their World Series-favorite lineup with closer Aroldis Chapman. Meanwhile, the White Sox just suspended their best pitcher because he threw a temper tantrum and cut up a jersey. Neither of these things will necessarily play a factor in today’s game, but it’s enough for me throw a little on the team heading in the right direction.
The Cubs had eight straight unders before Sunday's victory at Milwaukee, so I’m a little concerned with the run-line. But that’s tempered by having Jake Arrieta on the mound. His results have been a mixed bag lately — 5.40 ERA in July — but I think he and the Cubs are primed for a mini-run starting today.
Current Standings: Keefer (4-2, $10,230), Bern (0-3, $8,800), Brewer (1-4, $8,700)
