Wichita State minus-3.5 vs. Vanderbilt: $440 to win $400
The Shockers are the 11th-best team with the top defense in the country, according to kenpom.com, but because of some unflattering losses, they find themselves in Dayton for tonight’s NCAA Tournament play-in game against Vanderbilt.
The Commodores boast a pretty solid defense, too, and during a late-season winning streak, they defeated Kentucky by 12. But this is going to be the Shockers’ show, because few teams know how to win in March as well as Wichita.
Between a Final Four run, a No. 1 seed and a Sweet Sixteen, guards Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker have seen it all and won more than they lost in this tournament. This team is too good to be in the play-in game anyway, and they’ll make sure they get a taste of the real tournament with an emphatic victory tonight.
