We’ve entered the fourth season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. A participant's failure to place a bet on their scheduled day results in a $200 bankroll penalty.

Ray Brewer won back-to-back titles in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-15.

Colombia vs. Poland under 2.5 goals at minus-120: $360 to win $300

An obligatory disclaimer: I’ve never placed a wager on soccer in my life. I know next to nothing.

But the World Cup is dominating the action at sports books lately, and despite the early start times, there’s no reason why Play of the Day shouldn’t get in on the fun. Basic betting instincts lead me towards the under here.

Both teams suffered disappointing losses to start match play by giving up two goals to teams they were expected to defeat. Both teams then promised to bear down in their second games and fix what went wrong.

Let’s take their word for it. The final game in Russia today should be a struggle with neither Colombia nor Poland trying to concede an inch.

One of the two sides seems destined for a 1-0 victory.

Keefer (36-28-1, $11,516), Granger (17-17, $8,059), Grimala (17-24, $4,050), Brewer (28-31-1, $3,640)
