Las Vegas, Nev. –The Animal Foundation, Nevada’s largest open-admission animal shelter and pet adoption agency, is celebrating Valentine’s Day (a few days late) with their Happy Valentail’s Open House and Pet Adoption Weekend.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 15 through February 17, all dogs 2 years and older, and all cats 1 year and older, are available for adoption for $50 off their normal adoption fees thanks in part to PetSmart Charities. Adoption fees include spay or neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, and a voucher for a complimentary wellness exam at participating veterinary hospitals.
The Foundation hopes that the discount will provide an incentive to residents who have been considering adding a furry friend to their home.
“We’re aiming to find homes for 100 cats and dogs in just three days,” says The Animal Foundation’s Executive Director, Christine Robinson. “Shelter pets make the best pets, and we’re hoping that by offering this discount, we can persuade residents to choose the adoption option and find a furry Valentine at one of our two great locations.”
The adoption discounts are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday at The Animal Foundation’s Campus Adoption Center (655 N. Mojave Road, Las Vegas) and the new Everyday Adoption Center inside PetSmart (286 W. Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson).
In addition to weekend-long adoption discounts, The Animal Foundation will be hosting an Open House on its campus Saturday, February 16 from 11am-4pm. Thanks in part to Land Rover Las Vegas and Second Chance Animal Rescue, the first 100 Chihuahuas to arrive on campus with their owners will receive a voucher for a free spay or neuter at the Foundation’s Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic. Other Open House activities include a vendor fair and carnival and tours of the shelter.

The Animal Foundation’s Campus Adoption Center is open daily, 11am-7pm, and the new Everyday Adoption Center inside PetSmart is open Monday-Saturday, 9am-8pm, and Sunday, 9am-7pm.
