Over 100 Free Events Planned Over Seven Days
WHAT: The third annual Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival offers over 100 FREE programs at dozens of locations throughout Southern Nevada. The Festival has quickly become one of the largest annual community educational events. It celebrates anything and everything science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) related with a special emphasis on science and technology unique to this region.
WHO: The Festival is produced as a community service of the Las Vegas Natural History Museum and Exhibit IQ (a local company that develops science exhibits for museums worldwide). Over eighty STEM-related organizations and companies support this event. Key collaborators include: the Clark County School District, UNLV, Desert Research Institute and CSN.
WHEN Sunday, April 28 through Saturday, May 4, 2013.
Sunday, April 28th – Science is Everywhere Day
Nineteen unique STEM locations throughout Southern Nevada open their doors for special behind-the-scenes tours (times vary).
Monday, April 29th – Friday, May 3rd – Science in the Community
STEM professionals visit K-12 schools in the Valley to meet students and encourage science & technology-related careers.
Each evening public programs take place (locations vary) with well known scientists and technologists discussing current trends in their fields.
Saturday, May 4th – The Science & Technology Expo
Cashman Center in the Cultural Corridor
10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
One of the biggest science & technology parties in the U.S.! The Science Expo features over eighty STEM demonstration stations with hundreds of hands on activities and two big stages of science-themed entertainment.

The goal of the Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival is to increase community awareness that science and technology are everywhere and critically important to our everyday lives. The Festival further strives to encourage students to consider careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Science and technology are the foundation of our economy. Strong science and technology educational opportunities, research facilities and industry strengthen our community and positions our region for future economic success.
