The Lone Ranger - Grandsire of Arctic Bright View resides in Nevada

On July 3, 2013, the Disney production of The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer will debut in Nevada. One of the equine stars of the The Lone Ranger is Arctic Bright View, a grandson of Airdrie Apache. Airdrie Apache is owned by Kim and Brian Leavitt of Desert Oasis Sporthorses which is located in Yerington, Nevada.

Airdrie Apache was born in Kentucky at Airdrie Stud which is owned by past Kentucky governor Bereton Jones. The thoroughbred stallion was acquired by Dalene Knight and Don Irvine owners of Painted Desert Farm located in Redmond, Oregon.

When Dalene decided to retire, the opportunity of a lifetime was presented to Brian and Kim Leavitt of Desert Oasis Sporthorses to acquire Airdrie Apache, one of the leading producers of all white thoroughbreds.

Arctic Bright View was born in Oregon at Dalene Knight and Don Irvine's Painted Desert Farm.
Arctic Bright View is owned by Paul and Berva Megson of Megson Farm located in Calvert City, Kentucky.

Arctic Bright View was chosen for the movie for his color, size, temperament, athleticism and trainability, according to the Disney trainers. These traits are consistently produced by the Airdrie Apache line.

The most unique trait of Airdrie Apache is that he possess the very rare Dominant white gene which he often passes on to his offspring. The University of Cal. Davis has been studying his gene pattern for many years and have yet to fully understand this elusive gene.

Arctic Bright View is out of Arcticanna who is a white daughter of Airdrie Apachie and his sire is the solid black Panoramic. Talk about a dominant gene!!
