f/stop Project Seeks Community Donations for 2nd Annual Prom Fashion Photo Shoot

Published on Tue, Feb 18, 2014 (9:46 p.m.)

Feb. 19, 2014 - Las Vegas, Nevada – f/stop Project, a Nevada based nonprofit whose mission is to promote a healthy relationship between self-esteem, confidence and beauty through visual storytelling, is gearing up for its 2nd Annual Prom Fashion Photo Shoot. Each year f/stop Project partners with Las Vegas Prom closet to implement this special event for local high school students attending prom. f/stop Project founder Lisa Wright explained, “Once a student receives her dress and accessories from Las Vegas Prom Closet, she comes to us for the ‘Super Model Experience!’ This is our way of helping young women in our community feel special during a celebratory event in their lives!” At Las Vegas Prom Closet’s annual Operation Glass Slipper, students enter a raffle for the Prom Fashion Photo Shoot; each winner receives a makeover, photo shoot, and 11x14 framed portrait in her prom dress. Wright continued, “This event makes a huge difference to the young women we serve, and is contributory in improving self esteem. In addition to the photo shoot, we include a literacy component in which we ask each girl to write something about herself as it relates to confidence. It’s a fun day that is also introspective and educational.”

The annual Prom Fashion Photo Shoot is not possible without the help and support of the Las Vegas community. Although staffed by volunteers, monetary donations cover all expenses including: supplies, printing, framing, snacks, etc. “Like last year, we are asking Las Vegas locals to make a donation,” Wright said. “This event is about giving back….every dollar counts, every dollar matters!”

The 2nd Annual Prom Fashion Photo Shoot takes place on Saturday, April 5, 2014. To make a donation visit www.fstopproject.org, or send check or money order to: f/stop Project, P.O. Box 335254, N. Las Vegas, NV. 89033.

Las Vegas Prom Closet provides new or gently used prom dresses and accessories to students who cannot afford them. To learn more about Las Vegas Prom Closet and how a young lady you know can receive a dress, visit www.lvpromcloset.com.
