Las Vegas, Nevada – At 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27th, Bishop Gorman High School will roll out the red
carpet at the Red Rock Resort Casino Spa to honor one of its most devoted alumni, Mr. Albert (Big Al) Faccinto and
his wife Kathie, at the 32nd Annual Knight of the Gael gala. Over 650 of the Bishop Gorman community, family
and friends are expected to attend this annual fundraiser which benefits the school’s Tuition Assistance Fund.
Al Faccinto, a 1968 graduate of Bishop Gorman High School, excelled in academics and lettered in three sports
during his high school years. His efforts on the field earned him a scholarship to Utah State where he played football
and received his bachelor degree in Physical Education. Faccinto also excelled in his career moving his way up the
casino ranks in Las Vegas to eventually become the current President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM Resorts
International Marketing overseeing all international marketing efforts for Bellagio, MGM Grand, Aria and MGM
Macau. The Faccinto name has been associated with Bishop Gorman for literally decades with dozens of family
members that have walked the halls, both old and new. Throughout it all, “Big Al” and Kathie have been loyal
supporters, avid fans and generous donors.

Knight of the Gael began on February 23, 1983, when Roberta and Jackie Gaughan became the first inductees into
the Royal Order of the Gael. That evening, in the gymnasium of the original campus at 1801 Maryland Parkway,
nearly 400 people attended the first major annual fundraiser for Bishop Gorman High School. The goal was to
honor those individuals who were instrumental in the school’s success and to raise money to offset the deficit in the
school’s operating budget. The first Knight of the Gael did just that and in the past 32 years, it has raised more than
$1 million benefiting the students of Bishop Gorman High School, ensuring a quality Catholic education for
generations of Gaels.
Founded in 1954, Bishop Gorman High School is the only Catholic college preparatory school in Southern
Nevada. In addition to its emphasis on Catholic values and service, Bishop Gorman also has a nationally ranked
athletics program and offers 28 different co-curricular clubs and organizations. For more information, visit
