McDonald’s Announces ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ Summer Book Drive Promotion

WHAT: ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ summer book drive promotion
WHY: McDonald’s is partnering with Spread the Word Nevada for the ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ summer book drive. Guests will receive a free kid’s cone* in exchange for a new or gently used children’s book at participating Southern Nevada locations.
Spread the Word Nevada is a nonprofit organization ded¬i¬cated to advanc¬ing early child¬hood lit¬er¬acy by plac¬ing books into the hands and homes of chil¬dren within South¬ern Nevada’s at-risk, low income com¬mu¬ni¬ties. Since 2001, Spread the Word Nevada has dis¬trib¬uted more than 2.6 mil¬lion gen¬tly used and new books to more than 345,000 low-income youth in South¬ern Nevada.
During the one day event, Ronald McDonald (R) and local celebrities will also volunteer their time to read to children at local McDonald’s restaurants.
Throughout the year, McDonald’s Southern Nevada franchisees support various programs focusing on education, literacy and the well-being of children.

Strip performer Jeff Civillico of the Quad Resort & Casino’s show ‘Comedy in Action’ will join Ronald McDonald (R) for a special reading event at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 6990 S. Rainbow Road , Las Vegas, NV 89118 from 11:30 to 12:30 Saturday.
Additional appearances from Nevada pageant queens will also take place at various Southern Nevada McDonald’s restaurants on Saturday. A full schedule of appearances can be provided upon request.
