Bank of Nevada Supports Education with The Delta Academy

Las Vegas, July 28, 2014 -- Bank of Nevada continues their commitment to serve the people ofNevada by donating funds to purchase a comprehensive literacy program at The Delta Academy.

“Students attending The Delta Academy are some of the most at-risk students in the Southern Nevada. Many of our students did not find success on a comprehensive campus. However, with smaller class sizes and caring and dedicated staff, they flourish. Ourstudents are good kids looking for a second chance to succeed at school” said Kyle Konold, Ph.D., Executive Director of The Delta Academy. “We hope with guidance, differentiated instruction, and compasion our students will have an opportunity to graduate. Bank of Nevada’s generous donation will allow us to purchase books for our comprehensive literacy program. In addition to their generous donation, Bank of Nevada is introducing us to civic-minded companies to create community partnerships so we may expand our educational and vocational programs. Our goal is to prepare our students to vocationally fullfill the needs of our community. ”

“At Bank of Nevada we are committed to supporting education, particularly innovative educational concepts that teach students, who might not otherwise graduate, the fundamentals of valuable, employable skills for a brighter future,” said John Guedry, President and COO of Bank of Nevada. “The Delta Academy is the only school of it’s kind in the Las Vegas Valley and their programs and services are desperately needed. We are thrilled to introduce this innovative school to businesses who want to actively give back to our community by helping prepare these students for a career.”
