Rock & Roll is Alive & Well In Las Vegas

Imagine is a non-profit corporation founded by Lisa Chapman-Goulston to help fund the music departments of public schools in the Las Vegas Valley. In the current economic climate of our city, as in most cities, when school budgets are being trimmed and/or cut, the funds for the arts are oftentimes the first to be cut or completely eliminated. Most inner city schools have the grand challenge of thinking outside the box on a regular basis in order to keep the programs alive for their students, let alone in an economic downturn!
One of the ways Imagine is helping these students is to hold musical events to showcase local talent as well as bring in some well-known acts and ask for gently used instruments to donate to schools around the Las Vegas Valley.
This is Imagine's 4th year in helping the kids of Las Vegas find & keep their musical voice. With the assistance of local business owners, Danny & Korie Koker who own Count's Vamp'd Rock Club as well as Count's Kustoms and who can also be seen on the History channel (Danny) with the crew of Counting Cars. The Kokers graciously donate their club to hold benefits on behalf of Imagine & our kids. One of the events held at Vamp'd to benefit Imagine is produced by a few local Las Vegas Rock Musicians and has been very well received by the Las Vegas Community & beyond! Evidently there is a HUGE affinity for the band KISS and they come out in droves to "KISS Night In Vegas", wearing their KISS garb and painting their faces like their favorite KISS musician, women can also be seen dressed as their favorite KISS icon!! Stoney Curtis (who also play's in Danny's band, Count's 77), Shon McKee, Morpheus Blak & KDog Caruso are the producers of KISS Night In Vegas and local businesses such as KISS Mini Golf & KISS Limousines help support this stellar evening to benefit our kids as well. The evening centers on one album produced by the band KISS and showcases KISS tribute bands as well as other local musicians coming together for a night of musicianship, philanthropy and just plain FUN!! There are raffle prizes, contests for best KISS Girl as well as surprise celebrity guests. Guitar Center has also been very gracious by way of reducing costs for Imagine in order to purchase more instruments for our kids. Raiding The Rock Vault at the Westgate Las Vegas is also very instrumental (pun intended) in supporting Imagine, by way of donating guitars signed by the musicians of the show to raffle off at our events.
It is truly amazing and humbling to witness the outpouring of support and love from the Las Vegas Rock & Roll Community as well as the local businesses that are open to helping our kids and their music. I feel the public should be aware that Rock & Roll is most definitely alive & well in Las Vegas and GREAT things are happening in our community and for our kids because of it!
Imagine accepts monetary charitable donations as well as gently used instruments on behalf of our kids. Imagine currently holds 501 (c) (3) status which allows for federal tax exemption, enabling us to obtain more substantial donations for the kids of Las Vegas.
