United Blood Services Offering Blood Donors Two Gifts for the Month of August
Published on Wed, Aug 6, 2014 (9:42 a.m.)LAS VEGAS (Aug. 6, 2014) – United Blood Services of Las Vegas (UBS) is offering two gifts for volunteer blood donors throughout the month of August. Blood donors will receive one voucher valid for two admissions to see Gordie Brown at the Golden Nugget and one voucher for a buy-one-get-one-free all-day ride passes to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus. Donors supplying blood or platelets at any of the three Southern Nevada UBS locations and select mobile blood drives in August are eligible to receive the vouchers.
Impressionist, singer and entertainer Gordie Brown has consistently received rave reviews by critics and audiences alike for his comedy and celebrity impressions of famous stars, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jack Nicholson and Sylvester Stallone, as well as Las Vegas icons such as Elvis Presley and Sammy Davis, Jr.
In addition to show tickets, volunteer blood donors will also receive one voucher for a buy-one-get-one-free all day ride passes to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus, America's largest indoor theme park.
“We are always looking for fun and exciting ways to thank blood donors for volunteering their time and donating life-saving blood to our organization,” said Paul Milakeve, donor recruitment manager at UBS. “We are so thankful to Gordie Brown and Circus Circus for helping us show our gratitude to our volunteer blood donors.”
UBS relies on local blood donations to make sure blood is available for those in need. The nonprofit organization aims to provide a safe and ample blood supply, while producing advanced cutting-edge research. UBS currently has a need for all blood types, especially O negative and O positive. O is the universal blood type and the only type that can be transfused to patients with different blood types.
To schedule an appointment or to donate blood, call 702-228-4483 or visit one of United Blood Services’ three Southern Nevada locations:
• 6930 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV
