Viewpoints, created by Anne Bogart, is a physical vocabulary utilized in theater that creates truthful expression through the mediums of time and space. Tickets are $50.
Students are asked to arrive on time, to wear loose, comfortable clothing, bring a notebook and pencil, and a bottle of water. Fee includes both days of workshops and a 1/2 price ticket to "A Streetcar Named Desire" that is being produced and performed by instructors of the workshop at the Onyx Theatre.
During this 2-day workshop, students will explore the dynamics of ensemble building, improvisation, and the basics in character creation.
Schedule: Day One, August 31st: Students will learn the primary elements of Viewpoints: Tempo, Duration, Kinesthetic Response, Spatial Relationship, Topography, Shape, Gesture, and Architecture. There is an emphasis on group/ensemble work. Day Two, September 7th: Students will continue their exploration of Viewpoints and relationship to the ensemble in open Viewpoints exercises, grid-work, and character building exercises. There is an emphasis on group/ensemble work, heightened awareness, and truthful expression.
