The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada (The Center) will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, July 10 in celebration of a new partnership with the City of Las Vegas.
Under the contract, which is $500,000 over five years, The Center provides the City of Las Vegas with space to program for higher education classes (taught by UNLV), youth programming, workforce and community development, strategic planning and special events, overflow usage from the city’s community centers, as well as transgender-specific cultural competency and diversity training for homeless service providers contracted with the city.
This partnership aligns with the city’s Community Pride Priority and is a component of a larger education strategy designed to partner with The Center and UNLV in support of new programs and services in downtown Las Vegas.
