Always Coca-Cola

If you want a Pepsi while strolling through the Fremont Street Experience or an adjacent downtown casino, forget it.

Coca-Cola and the Fremont Street Experience Co. announced an agreement this week that gives the beverage company exclusive rights to sell its products at the 11 casinos tied into the downtown pedestrian mall.

The five-year deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, also allows Coca-Cola to sell its products at three outdoor kiosks.

"This agreement will enable the Fremont Street Experience to draw on the invaluable marketing resources of a world-class corporation and allow the project to reach a wider audience of potential visitors," said Don Snyder, president of the $70 million redevelopment project.

Snyder said Coca-Cola is the project's first marketing partner but won't be the last. He said serious negotiations are under way with other companies about similar partnerships.
