Rachel Ruth Swager, 87, of Kansas, died Thursday in a Kansas nursing home. She was born April 13, 1909, in Valley Falls, Kan. A former 15-year Las Vegas resident from 1962-1977, she was a file clerk for Reynolds Electrical and Engineering Company, a waitress, an inspector, a member of the Beulah Chapter 34 OES, the Rebecca Lodge and White Shriners.
She is survived by one son, Leon Jesse Swager Jr. of Las Vegas; one daughter, Mary Lou Adkins of Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Anna E. Keltner of Henderson, and Frona L. Powell of Topeka; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Directors, Topeka, are handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 209 Southwest Sixth Ave., Topeka, KS 66601 or the donor's favorite charity.
