Two women charged in trick roll

Two local women have been accused of stealing a tourist's $40,000 watch during a prostitution deal.

The victim reported his pricey Rolex watch stolen about 3 a.m. Tuesday from the Golden Nugget after an encounter with the alleged prostitutes that ended in what police deem a "trick roll."

Working on a description provided by the victim, Metro Police vice detectives tracked the women down a few hours later in the Fiesta hotel-casino. In their possession, police said, was the stolen watch.

Tia McLawhorn, 33, and Diane Lynn Young, 27, both of Las Vegas, face charges of grand larceny/trick roll. McLawhorn, who posted bond Tuesday, will additionally answer to charges of possession of stolen property and possession of heroin and methamphetamine when she appears in Justice Court April 9.

Young was released from Clark County Detention Center on her own recognizance Tuesday and appeared in court Wednesday, authorities said.
