Father of slain boy now suspect in murder

Anthony Bagley, 32, is wanted in the Wednesday slaying of Curtis Henry, 28, Las Vegas homicide detectives confirmed.

Witnesses told police the man who pulled the trigger is the father of Tony Bagley, who on Halloween night 1994 was shot and killed as he walked a North Las Vegas street with several trick-or-treaters, his sister, mother and aunt.

North Las Vegas police never caught the boy's killer but pursued several possible leads and motives. Lt. Mike Blackwell said one theory was that the shooting was retaliation for a bad drug deal.

Betty Govan, Tony's god-grandmother, said she is convinced the shooting was drug related. And to this day she holds Bagley responsible for his son's death.

On Wednesday morning, Reginald Williams was outside with Henry, his best friend, when Bagley drove up.

Homicide Lt. Wayne Petersen said police learned that Bagley "had been partying all night."

Williams said Bagley approached Henry and demanded payment on a $1,000 debt from eight years earlier. Bagley then pulled a gun from his waistband and fired once, witnesses said. Henry ran a few feet to the side of a home, where he died.

Bagley fled in a friend's car, which later was found empty, Petersen said.

Investigators believe Bagley is driving his own vehicle, a burgundy 1997 Mercury Mountaineer sport utility vehicle with tinted windows, custom wheels and Nevada license plate number 022 GPL.
