Woman’s lawsuit against Rodman dismissed

A federal lawsuit accusing basketball player Dennis Rodman of battery has been dismissed.

Dixie Johnson, 48, recently agreed to dismiss the lawsuit, said Gregory Hafen, a Las Vegas attorney who represents Rodman. Hafen declined to comment further.

Parties for both sides have signed a nondisclosure agreement, Hafen said.

Johnson's attorney, Clarence Gamble of Las Vegas, could not be reached for comment.

According to the lawsuit, Rodman "sexually assaulted the plaintiff by physically grabbing her left breast and shaking it" on April 19, 1998, at the Las Vegas Hilton.

The complaint said Rodman also made lewd comments about the woman's breasts in the presence of numerous people. The lawsuit stated that Rodman caused Johnson to suffer "shame, embarrassment and extreme emotional distress."

Johnson, who worked for Stripper Elite Entertainment at the time of the alleged incident, had been seeking compensatory damages of $300,000 and punitive damages of $3 million, plus attorney fees and costs of the lawsuit.
