Kevin S. Brown, 34, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 18, 1964, in Newport Beach, Calif. A resident for one year, he was a painter in the construction industry.

He is survived by two daughters, Samantha and Alisa; his father, Roy Brown of Laguna Hills, Calif.; his mother, Carolyn Brown, and one sister, Kristina Quinn, both of Alisa Viejo, Calif.; and his grandfather, Dayton Smith of Las Vegas.

Stella Carter

Stella Carter, 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1909, in New Orleans. A resident for 56 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Eastern Star and on the Mother Board of the Greater St. James Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Ida Tiffith, and one son, Leon Carter, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Rose Veley of Bakersfield, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Greater St. James Baptist Church, 316 Madison Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Peter V. Caruso Sr.

Peter V. Caruso Sr., 59, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 4, 1939, in New York City. A resident for 27 years, he was a general contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline R.; two sons, Peter V. Caruso Jr. and Paul Scott Caruso, and one daughter, Pauline F. Caruso, all of Las Vegas.

Erma Jean Cosgrove

Erma Jean Cosgrove, 87, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 27, 1911, in Branch, Ark. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one brother, Robert Slavens of Las Vegas.

Dolores 'Dee' Dishington

Dolores 'Dee' Dishington, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born May 30, 1928, in Detroit. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Johnson of Harrison, Idaho, and Lana Partington of Simi Valley, Calif.; one son, Lou Gardella of Henderson; one sister, Irene Banach of Lexington, Mich.; two stepbrothers, Bob Kurtz and Mark Kurtz, both of Michigan; and six grandchildren.

Theresa F. Duperron

Theresa F. Duperron, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Rhode Island. A resident for more than three years, she was a laboratory technician for a chemical company.

She is survived by four brothers, Leo Leveillee, Romeo Leveillee and Roland Leveillee, all of Rhode Island, and Edgar Leveillee of Oregon; and two sisters, Connie Deroshires and Cecil Card, both of Rhode Island.

Kenneth Elliott, 78, of Las Vegas died Dec. 14 in Las Vegas. He was born April 9, 1920, in Ohio. A resident for many years, he was retired.

George Fredrick Ence

George Fredrick Ence, 94, of St. George, Utah, died Tuesday in St. George. He was born Nov. 12, 1904, in Santa Clara, Utah. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a barber.

He is survived by one son, Dr. G. Dwayne Ence of Las Vegas; one daughter, Iva Dawn McNulty of Louisville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George. Burial will follow in Santa Clara City Cemetery.

Wesley Thomas Farrell

Wesley Thomas Farrell, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Jan. 21, 1918, in Paterson, N.J. A resident for three months, he was a retired engineer for a manufacturing company and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by two daughters, Darlene Tomesco of Brick, N.J., and Donna Reyes of Las Vegas; one son, Wesley T. Farrell Jr. of Aurora, Ill.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Huey Fleming

Huey Fleming, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Birmingham, Ala. A resident for 45 years, he was a hotel kitchen steward.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; four sons, Stanley Webb, Gabriel Eppenger and Bernard Fleming, all of Las Vegas, and Milo Fleming of North Las Vegas; six daughters, Sonja Jackson, Lynn Jackson, Yvette Gray, Yvonne Fleming, Rhonda Myles and Kathy Fleming, one brother, Eddie Fleming, and three sisters, Lucille Hughes, Elizabeth Fleming and Joni Mae Dollar, all of Las Vegas; 46 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Great Commission Interdenominational Church, 3329 Coleman St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Sheldon F. Friedman

Sheldon F. Friedman, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 25, 1917, in Ohio. A resident for seven years, he was an electronics technician for RCA and a member of the Knights of Pythias.

He is survived by his wife, Tillie.

Frankie O. Harris

Frankie O. Harris, 67, of Las vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Louisville, Miss. A resident for many years, he was a diesel house foreman for Belt Railway Co.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three daughtes, Lucile Metts and Jacqueline Gill, both of Louisville, and Angela Dailey of Las Vegas; two sons, Christopher George of Sartartia, Miss., and Tony Salas Harris of Chicago; one brother, Dave Harris of Indianola, Miss.; two sisters, Willie Doris Jimerson of Rock Island, Ill., and Willie Mae Triplett of Louisville; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.

Edward M. Jenkins III

Edward M. Jenkins III, 29, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 7, 1969, in Topeka, Kan. A resident for 18 years, he was a hotel night auditor.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy J. Jenkins, and one sister, Anissa Jenkins, both of Las Vegas.

Charles Ray Johnson, 45, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 4, 1953, in Monroe, La. A resident for 46 years, he was a casino worker.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel "Queenie" Reece; one daughter, Juanisha C. Reece-Johnson, his mother, Mamie Lewis, and four sisters, Deloise Johnson, Barbara Clemons, Linda Eackles and Sheila Lewis, and three brothers, Curtis Brass, George Brass and Andrew Brass Jr., all of Las Vegas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jennifer Cheryl Kilcullen, 45, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 27, 1953, in Florida. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Johnny Van Daele; one daughter, Jennifer Van Daele; two brothers, Paul Kilcullen and Malcolm Hayles; two sisters, Alma DiAngelo and Sara Moody; and two grandchildren.

Perry King, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Waverly, La. A resident for 39 years, he was a gardener for the Clark County School District.

He is survived by his wife, Viola; three daughters, Theresa King, Pamela Gantt and Shawana King, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Rosemary Jones of Las Vegas and Fannie Mae Hill of Monroe, La.; two brothers, Leon King of Las Vegas and Marion King of Monroe; other relatives and friends; and two grandchildren.

Stephen O. Lindquist

Stephen O. Lindquist, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born June 10, 1925, in Minnesota. A resident for 17 years, he was a chief executive officer for a floor covering company and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mickie; one daughter, Cathy Lindquist; and one brother, Paul Lindquist.

Rodney 'Jake' Looney

Rodney 'Jake' Looney, 52, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Ontario, Ore. A resident for 30 years, he was a supervisor for the Las Vegas Valley Water District and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marty; his mother, Jacqueline Looney of Las Vegas; three sons, Trent Looney of Biloxi, Miss., Troy Looney of Las Vegas and Joel Looney of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Reuben Looney of Moab, Utah, and Douglas Looney of Alamo; two sisters, Judith Burrer of Houston and Cheryl Hart of Las Vegas.

Doreene F. McClatchey

Doreene F. McClatchey, 31, of Las Vegas died Dec. 20 in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 25, 1967, in New York City. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; two daughters, Becky Costanza and Cory Costanza, and her parents, Dennis and Donna Johnson, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Barbara of New York state; and three brothers, Scott Johnson and Tim Johnson, both of Las Vegas, and Steve of New York state.

John William Murphy

John William Murphy, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 31, 1918, in New York state. A resident for 31 years, he was a floorman/pit boss in the gaming industry, a member of the Screen Directors Guild, Screen Actors Guild, United States Golfers Association and a former member of the Italian American Club.

He is survived by his wife, Marcie; one daughter, Megan; three brothers, David, Daniel and Richard; and five sisters, Delores, Margaret, Anna, Dorothy and Elizabeth.

Services were scheduled at 11:30 a.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Edith 'Bessie' O'Keefe

Edith "Bessie" O'Keefe, 87, of Reno died Monday in Reno. She was born Sept. 6, 1911, in Preston. A Las Vegas resident until 1938, she was an accountant, was published in "Who's Who in International Art and Painting," had numerous art showings in Europe, earned degrees in business and education at University of Nevada, Reno, was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Mining Engineering Society and Sparks Association of University Women.

She is survived by one brother, James Gregory of Preston; and two nieces, Marilyn Atkinson of Hawthorne and Evelyn Nieto of Las Vegas.

Brandon Leroy Page, 44, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 27, 1954, in Illinois. A resident for 10 years, he was an Army veteran.

Arthur Rea, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1928, in Mangum, Okla. A resident for 29 years, he owned and operated A&M Enterprises, was a tax accountant, a Korean War Air Force veteran who retired after 28 years, a member of the Best of the West Tax Association of Nevada, Southern California Association of Enrolled Tax Agents and the National Association of Enrolled Tax Agents.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret; his mother, Gladys Rea of Borger, Texas; and three brothers, Robert E. Rea of Torrance, Calif., David J. Rea of Henderson and Tommy L. Rea of Georgetown, S.C.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Benson of Henderson and Mary Sclebelo of New Fairfield, Conn.; one son, Hugh Roth of North Las Vegas; two brothers, Louis Wozar of Dayton, Ohio, and Andrew Wozar of Clifton, N.J.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is survived by one son, Dean Sloniger of Las Vegas; three daughters, Darlene McCoy of California, Arlene Looper of Colorado and Lea Rae Jensen of New Hampshire; one sister, Maxine Ryan, and one brother, Justy Sloniger, both of Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Edward Leo Thompson

Edward Leo Thompson, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 5, 1945, in North Carolina. A resident for six years, he was a customer relations representative for Sprint and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his father, Tom Price; and one sister, Phylis Casas.

Cecil J. Toms, 92, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 14, 1906, in Laurium, Mich. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired Coast Guard chief boatswain mate, a World War II Navy/Coast Guard veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by two sons, Charles R. Toms of Boulder City and James R. Toms of Spokane, Wash.; one sister, Gladys Vertin of Boulder City; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Phillip Walter, 73, of Las Vegas died Jan. 6 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Elaine, Ark. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired boxman in the gaming industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Mason-Venable of Vallejo, Calif., Delores Brooks of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jennifer Thompson of Alton, Ill.; one son, Tyrone Page-Walter of Las Vegas; two sisters, Mary Stewart of Los Angeles and Ann Johnson of Pasadena, Calif.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

John Andrew Wittig

John Andrew Wittig, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 4, 1931, in Milwaukee. A resident for 46 years, he was a retired taxicab driver, a Korean War Air Force veteran, a member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; three sons, Mike Wittig, Tony Wittig and Bill Wittig, and two daughters, Patti Roberts and Kathy Glasper, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Marlyn Mayers of Las Vegas and Bonnie Scott of San Mateo, Calif.; one brother, Chuck Wittig of Hawaii; and 13 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., with services following at 12:30 p.m. and again at 1 p.m. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
