Henry Warren Askin

Henry Warren Askin, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born on Sept. 23, 1920, in New Castle, Ind. A resident for seven years, he was a retired Army lieutenant colonel and a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Margie; two daughters, Pam Mueller of Virginia and Terry Askin of Arkansas; one son, Hank Askin of California; and one sister, Marcella Thomas of Indiana.

Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., handled arrangements.

LaBarbara Editha Spencer Blacker

LaBarbara Editha Spencer Blacker, 84, of Santa Rosa, Calif., died Oct. 20 in a California hospital. She was born on Nov. 15, 1914, in Idaho. A resident of Las Vegas from 1939 to 1990, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Oakes of Sparks; one son Robert Blacker of Forestville, Calif.; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by the Neptune Society.

Rolando Bolanos

Rolando Bolanos, 48, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 6, 1951, in Santa Ana, El Salvador. A resident for 20 years, he was a custodian for an LDS church.

He is survived by his wife, Edith, three daughters, Glendy G. Bolanos, Michelle Y. Bolanos and Denise Bolanos, and two sons, Rolando A. Bolanos Jr. and Danny A. Bolanos, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Matilda Martinez, four brothers, Armando Bolanos, Mauricio A. Bolanos, Antonio Bolanos and Vicente Bolanos, four sisters, Amelia Bolanos, Irma Bolanos, Dora A. Bolanos and Angelica Bolanos, all of Santa Ana; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4:40 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services at the LDS chapel, 4201 E. Stewart Ave. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Leo John Cherrie

Leo John Cherrie, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Pawtucket, R.I. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired aircraft machinist and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda M. Davis of Bullhead City, Ariz.; one son, Robert Cherrie of Nevada; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.

Gordon J. Davis

Gordon J. Davis, 90, of Pahrump died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 21, 1909, in Woodland, Calif. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired auto parts manager for Chrysler and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Beth Kingham and granddaughter Maria Anderson, both of Pahrump.

Charles K. Hellriegel

Charles K. Hellriegel, 84, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 18, 1915, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired vice president for a petro-chemical company and a lifetime member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen; two sons, Charles Hellriegel III and Robert J. Hellriegel, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday at Henderson Community Church United Church of Christ.

Stanley Hyman

Stanley Hyman, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1925, in San Francisco. A resident for 48 years, he was a district manager for an insurance company and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie; three daughters, Mary Brumley, Nancy Wilber of Texas and Cindy Falls of Idaho; one brother, Al Caro of California; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are scheduled 11 a.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Stephen Mark Kammerer

Stephen Mark Kammerer, 44, of Las Vegas died Oct. 29 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 14, 1954, in Nebraska. A longtime resident, he was a truck driver.

He is survived by one daughter, Brandie Kammerer of California.

Charles G. Logan

Charles G. Logan, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born July 15, 1921, in Chebanse, Ill. A resident for 57 years, he was a retired conductor for Union Pacific Railroad of 42 years and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife Mary; four sons, Charles William Logan and Richard Wayne Logan, both of Las Vegas, John Robert Logan of Santa Clara, Calif., and Phillip J. Logan of Reno; one sister, Lula Senior of Effingham, Ill.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 3-6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services are scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Monnie M. Maryonovich

Monnie M. Maryonovich, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born March 29, 1913, in Almond, Ark. A resident for 19 years, she was a retired bench assembly worker in the business machinery industry.

She is survived by her husband, George; two daughters, Lola Winconek of De Soto, Kan., and Jeanette Measels of Las Vegas; two sons, Jim Southerland of Cookeville, Tenn., and Jerry Southerland of Abingdon, Md.; two sisters, Erma Ebrite of Ada, Okla., and Sally Kellams of Vero Beach, Fla., one brother, Troy Bullard of Vero Beach; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 2-5 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Additional visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until noon services Saturday in Palm, Jones.

Christopher Alan Parshall

Christopher Alan Parshall, 24, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1974, in Tucson, Ariz. A resident for 19 years, he was a student at the Community College of Southern Nevada and he served a church mission in Washington.

He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Deborah Parshall, 10 sisters, Stehpanie Parshall, Nicole Davis, Rachel Parshall, Heather Parshall, Elizabeth Parshall, Camilla Parshall, Allyse Parshall, Rebecca Parshall, Emily Parshall and Sarah Parshall, and one brother, Stephen Parshall, all of Las Vegas; his grandparents, George and Bee Parshall of Las Vegas, Thomas G. Bliven of Mesa, Ariz., Gilda Chase of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and his great-grandmother, Helen D. Chagon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Mary E. Wimpee-Robertson

Mary E. Wimpee-Robertson, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday at a local care center. She was born on May 28, 1924, in East Saint Louis, Ill. A resident for 10 years she was a retired restaurant owner.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Plaster of Camp Verde, Ariz., and Joyce Kuhn of St. Charles, Mo.; her step-mother, Helen Ramsey of Dexter, Mo.; four brothers, Hal Geiger of Freeburg, Ill., Robert Geiger of Fort Saint Lucie, Fla., Bill Geiger of East Saint Louis, and Dennis Geiger of Jonesville, Wis.; one sister, Irma Williams of East Saint Louis; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kathryn D. Shell

Kathryn D. Shell, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Pennsylvania. A resident since 27 years, she was a retired office manager in the Clark County School District and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church choir.

She is survived by her husband, George; one son, Richard Wiest of Trinity, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Services are scheduled 3 p.m. Monday in Trinity United Methodist Church, 6151 W. Charleston Blvd. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Trinity United Methodist Church Choir Fund.

Ben John Spahn

Ben John Spahn, 88, of Las Vegas died Oct. 29 in a local care center. He was born June 25, 1911. A resident for 20 years, he was a railroad engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; one son, Ben Jr. of Littleton, Colo.; one daughter, Shirley Zaremba of Hotchkiss, Colo.; and several grandchildren.

Richard Allen Wooten Sr.

Richard Allen Wooten Sr., 55, of Las Vegas died Oct. 25 in Las Vegas. He was born June 19, 1945. A longtime resident, he was a veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Richard Allen Wooten Jr. of Topeka, Kan., Shawn Wooten and Derrick Wooten, both of Pennsylvania; and one brother, Darwin Wooten of Kansas.

Graveside services are scheduled 8 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson is handling arrangements.
