Gary A. Anthony

Gary A. Anthony, 47, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 5, 1952, in Kansas. A resident for many years, he was a telemarketer.

He is survived by one sister, Gail Anthony-Byers of Raytown, Mo.

Burial will be in Leavenworth, Kan. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Wanda L. Attuso

Wanda L. Attuso, 72, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born July 30, 1927, in Twanda, Ill. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip; five daughters, Ramona Kennedy and Teresa Aucusta, both of Baton Rouge, La., Phyllis Molae of Gonzalez, La., Linda Calandrino of Indian Springs and Gail Thompson of Las Vegas; six sons, Lucian "Rocky" Attuso of Baton Rouge, Gary Ross of New Mexico, Terry Ross of Tennessee, Steve Thompson of Henderson and Jeff Thompson of Mississippi; one brother, Darrell Scarbeary of Streator, Ill.; 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Olive Ballas

Olive Ballas, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Dayton, Ohio. A resident for 22 years, she was an engineering aide for an aircraft manufacturer, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the Nevada Alliance for the Mentally Ill.

She is survived by one daughter, Beryl Maher of Lancaster, Calif.; one sister, Eleanor Patterson of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Herman Bender

Herman Bender, 71, of Las Vegas died Dec. 17 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 5, 1928, in Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his very good friend, Maria G. Sataray of Las Vegas.

Dorothy C. Best

Dorothy C. Best, 91, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 25, 1908, in Ohio. A resident for 37 years, she was a fund control officer for the Atomic Energy Commission, a member of the Eastern Shrine, White Shrine and Social Order of Beauceant.

She is survived by one son, Joseph T. McKee of Lansing, Mich.; one daughter, Zaundra Carson of Farmington, N.M.; two sisters, Margaret Grohne and Gladys Wilcox, and three brothers, Willis Egger, Sam Egger and Bob Egger, all of Springfield, Ohio; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be private.

Verla Chaire Boyle

Verla Chaire Boyle, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A legal secretary for the federal government, she was born June 7, 1912, in Missouri.

She is survived by one daughter, Marilynn Atkins of Las Vegas; and two grandsons, John Williamson of Seattle and Ricky Kelly of Studio City, Calif.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Paradise Memorial Gardens. A memorial service is scheduled at 7 p.m. today in the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Charles Clinden Briscoe

Charles Clinden Briscoe, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 4, 1928, in Bennington, Okla. A resident for 56 years, he was a drywall contractor involved in the construction of many of Strip hotels.

He is survived by his ex-wife of 35 years, Floretta Briscoe of Henderson; three daughters, Charlotte Waltermeyer and Teresa Brisco, both of Henderson, and Brenda Hanks of Las Vegas; one sister, Lois Morgan of Dennison, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Esther F. Cooper

Esther F. Cooper, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday. She was born May 14, 1919, in Denver. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Sherry Ickes, Denise Grace, Carol Cooper and Linda Cooper Fitzpatrick, all of Las Vegas; three sons, William Russell Cooper and Michael Cooper, both of Dallas, and Rick Cooper of Paradise, Texas; 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Corradini

Dorothy Corradini, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 2, 1917, in Racine, Wis. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired federal government employee.

She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Wyre of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Barbara Heinrich of Henderson; one son, Edward Stiehm of Westminster, Colo.; one sister, Hazel Stiehm of Green Bay, Wis.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Patricia Esparza

Patricia Esparza, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Santa Rita, N.M. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Barrios of Huntington Park, Calif.; one son, Primi Esparza of North Hollywood, Calif.; three sisters, Teresa Mota of Montabello, Calif., Magdelena Martinez of Norwalk, Calif., and Benita Garcia of Los Angeles; two brothers, Miguel Estrada of Norwalk and Max Estrada of Los Angeles; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Eunice L. Hoppe

Eunice L. Hoppe, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born Jan. 20, 1939, in West Virginia. A resident for 14 years, she was an office assistant for an office supply company.

She is survived by her husband, Robert H.; one daughter, Chris Hollecroft of Boulder, Colo.; one sister, Phyllis Jean Kimball of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Dale Key

Dale Key, 58, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1941, in Avinger, Texas. A resident for 40 years, he was a slot mechanic at the New Frontier, a Navy veteran and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his significant other, Helene Key, two daughters, Deborah Key and Denise Eword, and one stepdaughter, Cathy Denning, all of Las Vegas; five brothers, Ed Key of Kountze, Texas, Merle Key of Livingston, Texas, Herbert Kleim of Aleif, Texas, Max Edward Kleim Jr. of Batson, Texas, and Oscar Key of Pineland, Texas; two sisters, Nelda Herring of Vidor, Texas, and Bernice Gore of Kountze; and four grandchildren.

The family is planning a private memorial service. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Emma Elizabeth Morera

Emma Elizabeth Morera, 84, of Pahrump died Monday in a local health care center. She was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Bloomfield, Mont. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Helen Thomas, and three sons, Arthur Wallis, Johnny Wallis and Jerry Wallis, all of Pahrump; one sister, Dorothy Vorhies of Glendive, Mont.; one brother, Harry Mortensen of Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Dr. Arthur Ornstein

Dr. Arthur Ornstein, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 21, 1917, in New Jersey. A resident for more than 20 years, he was a podiatrist and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter, Janet Jacoby, and one son, Dr. Philip Ornstein, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Connie Perry

Connie Perry, 53, of Henderson died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 10, 1946, in Iowa. A resident for many years, she was an apartment complex manager.

She is survived by one son, Jeff Essy of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Christian Nicholas Santiago

Christian Nicholas Santiago, 12 weeks, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Nov. 28, 1999, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Arnold and Rizalyn Santiago, one sister, Brianna Rose Santiago, and his brother, Aeron Christopher Santiago, all of Henderson; his grandparents, Araceli Mendoza of Panorama City, Calif., Arturo and Shirley Santiago of Chicago and Ramon and Rosita Palacio of Los Angeles; and his great-grandmother, Liberta Palacio of Los Angeles.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 6 p.m. services Wednesday and 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Gerilyn Fae Shepherd

Gerilyn Fae Shepherd, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. A retail clothing saleswoman, she was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Ohio.

She is survived by her husband, William; one son, Gary Shepherd of Virginia; one daughter, Debra Sterling of Maine; one sister, Marilyn Reardon of Ohio; and four grandchildren.

A remembrance viewing will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society.

William Sombrio

William Sombrio, 90, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 7, 1909, in New Haven, Conn. A resident for four years, he was a retired paint and wallpaper company owner, a member of the Knights of Columbus and Masons and played in several marching bands and orchestras.

He is survived by two sons, William Sombrio Jr. of Mesa, Ariz., and Jack Sombrio of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Codispoti of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Edythe Sorrenti

Edythe Sorrenti, 88, of Sandy, Utah, died Saturday in West Jordan, Utah. She was born Dec. 10, 1911, in Selma, Calif. A former Las Vegas resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker

She is survived by one daughter, Judy Rowe of Sandy; one son, Fred Sorrenti of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Helen Q. White

Helen Q. White, 71, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1928, in Tylertown, Miss. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker, a foster parent, a member of the Lions Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Mother Board at Greater Faith Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, DeAnna White of North Las Vegas and Regina White of Las Vegas; four stepdaughters, Geneva Houston, Juanita Shelby, Alemeda Shelby and Shirley Shelby, all of Las Vegas; two stepsons, Edward Shelby of Bridge City, La., and Howard Shelby of Las Vegas; one brother, Walter Quinn of New Orleans; 32 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Greater Faith Baptist Church, 2736 Chamberlain Lane, North Las Vegas. A private burial will follow.

Troy Lee Williams

Troy Lee Williams, 33, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 16, 1966, in Cedar City, Utah. A lifelong resident, he was a hotel-casino retail controller.

He is survived by his wife, Jill; one son, Tyler Williams, his mother, Jeanette Williams, and one brother, Kim Williams, all of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Deann Walcott of Salt Lake City and Peggy Azar of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Wednesday in the LDS Orchard Valley Ward chapel, Tree Line Drive and Sahara Avenue. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
