Barbara Ann Battiato

Barbara Ann Battiato, 51, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 12, 1949, in Cleveland. A resident for 19 years, she taught in the Chicago School District and in the Indian Springs Elementary School District.

She is survived by her father, Sam Battiato of Las Vegas.

Graveside services are scheduled 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Virgil A. Brevik

Virgil A. Brevik, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 27, 1920, in LaCenter, Wash. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired counselor for a girls school and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joye; two daughters, Carla Glenn of Las Vegas and Janice Voester of Santa Rosa, Calif., one sister, Janice Bistdeau of California; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Bonnie M. Brockway

Bonnie M. Brockway, 60, of Casper, Wyo., died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 19, 1940, in California. A winter resident for six years, she was a retired county government deputy recorder.

She is survived by her husband, Gary D. of Casper; one daughter, Callie M. Stark of Tonopah; one son, Harold Johnson of Barr Nunn, Wyo.; one brother, Richard Woodward of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Jewell Alby Burrow

Jewell Alby Burrow, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 10, 1921, in California. A resident for 10 years, he was a mason in the construction industry and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Ahna Yancey of Glendora, Calif., and Marianna Gray of Bakersfield, Calif.; and one son, Anthony Burrow of Bakersfield, Calif.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Janice Lorraine Clancy

Janice Lorraine Clancy, 56, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 29, 1944, in Washington state. A resident for two years, she was the owner of a trucking company.

She is survived by one son, Jason Clancy; one daughter, Jennifer Peterson; two sisters, Joan James and Judy Waltier; and two grandchildren.

Allen Crum

Allen Crum, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for 28 years, he was an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; one son, David of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Connie Lee Galloway of La Porte, Ind., and Deborah Kay Crum of Springdale, Ark.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation and services are private. Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, handled arrangements.

Joan Kay Dannen

Joan Kay Dannen, 56, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1944, in Marshalltown, Iowa. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Coyle of North Las Vegas; two sons, Randy Dannen of Las Vegas and Robert Dannen of Henderson; her mother, Wynona Jackson, and one sister, Janet Clark, both of Melbourne, Iowa; one brother, Jerry Gene Jackson of Marshalltown, Iowa; and eight grandchildren.

Itzel Diaz-Coria

Itzel Diaz-Coria, 7, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A resident for six years, she was born July 18, 1993, in Mexico.

She is survived by her parents, Patino Mario Diaz and Socorro Diaz, and one brother, Mario Diaz Jr., all of Las Vegas, and her grandparents, Stanislaloda Diaz, Terresa Coria Garcia, Santos Coria Orocoz and Garesiela Patino, all of Mexico.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home.

John Gaisler

John Gaisler, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 7, 1909, in New Jersey. A resident for three years, he had worked for an aluminum company.

He is survived by one grandchild, Gary Gaisler of Las Vegas.

Sammy Benjamin Guest

Sammy Benjamin Guest, 23, of Las Vegas died March 4 in Las Vegas. He was born June 5, 1977, in Chicago. A longtime resident, he was a mechanic.

He is survived by one daughter, Amani; his father, Hilton; his mother, Deborah Stewart of Las Vegas; one brother, Christopher; and his grandparents, Bessie and Lee Stromiles and Sammy and Barbara Guest.

Thomas Hayes

Thomas Hayes, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1918, in Oregon. A resident for 18 years, he was an Army veteran and a member of Elks Lodge 1468.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; one son, Ken Hayes; two daughters, Pauline Elder and Debbie Mullen; two stepdaughters, Diane and Jacque; one brother, Paul Hayes; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Billy Dee Loman

Billy Dee Loman, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Sheridan, Wyo. A resident for 36 years, he was a Clark County schoolteacher, an Army veteran and a member of the National Education Association, the Army Reserve Officers Association and Garkane Power.

He is survived by two sons, Jeff and Bill C. Loman; one daughter, Dana; one sister, Betty Lou; and 13 grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 4 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Contact Desert Memorial for burial time.

Dorothy Kozar

Dorothy Kozar, 48, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 18, 1952, in St. Paul, Minn. A resident for 13 years, she was a cook at the Golden Nugget.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew; two sons, Anthony Domeier of Lindstrom, Minn., and Michael Domeier of Grandsburg, Wis.; two brothers, James Domeier and Al Domeier, both of Minnesota; three sisters, Shirley Harvey of Lakeville, Minn., Mary Busse of Prior Lake, Minn., and Barbara Howkenstad of Arizona; one stepbrother, Victor Feldman of Minnesota; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

John A. McKee Jr.

John A. McKee Jr., 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 24, 1926, in New Orleans. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired police officer, a World War II and Korean War Army and Navy veteran and a member of the Masons and the American Motorcycle Association.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Klingler of Statford, Conn., and Erin L. McKee of New Richmond, Wis.; one son, Michael McKee of Port Townsend, Wash., and two brothers, Philip McKee of Clarksville, Tenn., and Robert Stevenson of Vero Beach, Fla.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Deborah McKinnon

Deborah McKinnon, 53, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 19, 1948, in Miami Beach, Fla. A resident for 27 years, she was a school district counselor and a member of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas and Stephens College Alumni.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; one daughter, Stephanie McKinnon, and one son, Michael McKinnon, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Abby Hirsch-Weinstein of New York City; and two brothers, Roger Epstein and Grant Epstein, both of Miami Beach.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Merlin J. 'Bud' Ortner

Merlin J. "Bud" Ortner, 77, of Boulder City died Sunday in Boulder City. He was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Danbury, Iowa. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired head custodian for the school district and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane "Mickey"; four sisters, Marion Dolan of Georgia, Pauline Flannagan of Iowa, Shirley Pithan of Texas and Jan Mitchell of Las Vegas; two brothers, Melvin Ortner and Leon Ortner, both of Iowa; and 10 step-grandchildren.

Services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City and 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Palm Mausoleum in Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Pamela Pisciotta

Pamela Pisciotta, 36, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 14, 1965, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel; one daughter, Quintcee Pisciotta, two sons, Salvatore Pisciotta and Vincenzo Pisciotta, her parents, Peggy and Fred Stiles, one brother, Greg Stiles, one sister, Karen Crawford, her stepmother and father, Norma and Donald Cummings, and one stepbrother, Robert Cummings, all of Las Vegas; three stepsisters, DeAnn Thompson of Utah and Cheri Tonks and Sharon Saca, both of Las Vegas; and her grandmother, Esther Walker of Antioch, Calif.

Lawrence J. Polachowski

Lawrence J. Polachowski, 76, died in a local care center. He was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Michigan. He was a pit boss and a veteran.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Tomiko Poole

Tomiko Poole, 65, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 10, 1935, in Japan. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired dealer.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; and two sons, Franklin Poole of Raleigh, N.C., and Kenneth Poole of Las Vegas.

Jerome A. Ryer

Jerome A. Ryer, 68, died Thursday in a local care center. Born Aug. 9, 1932, in Yonkers, N.Y., he was a bartender.

He is survived by two sons, Paul and Brian Ryer.

William S. Saltsgaver

William S. Saltsgaver, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Oregon. A resident for 51 years, he was a retired dealer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Gloria Mellon of Longview, Wash.

Estelle Saunders

Estelle Saunders, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 30, 1932, in New York City. A resident for seven years, she was a retired retail saleswoman and a member of the Sun City Tennis Club.

She is survived by her husband, Martin J.; two sons, Keith L. Saunders of New York City and David Saunders of Chicago; one sister, Rita Schwab of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Quincy B.; three daughters, Linda Davis, Christine Daubs and Becky Whitaker, all of Las Vegas; one son, Dr. Spencer Schuenman of Dearborn, Mich., four sisters, Lillian Hinton of Bountiful, Utah, Vivian Anderson of Salt Lake City and Marjorie Bowden and Eileen Clawson, both of Provo, Utah; and 15 grandchildren.

Chester Lee Shelton, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Iowa. A resident for 28 years, he was the owner of a roofing company and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Diane Nail of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Harold Raymond Silva, 78, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born May 22, 1922, in Providence, R.I. He was a retired poker manager and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Cicely; one daughter, Nancy Lewis of Henderson; one stepson, Gary Floyd of Melbourne, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Christine L.; one son, Conrad Stachnik; three daughters, Carla May of Las Vegas, Carolyn Fischer of Minooka, Ill., and Charlene Stuart of Westmont, Ill.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Steven Edward Stockton, 46, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born May 8, 1954, in Waukegan, Ill. A longtime resident, he was a laborer.

He is survived by his parents, Jean and William Stockton of Benton, Ill.

Alfred Stanley Wyman

Alfred Stanley Wyman, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 10 years, he was a sports book writer for the Santa Fe hotel and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice E. Wyman; two sons, Stuart Wyman and Robert Wyman, and one daughter, Cheryl Rooney, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Marilyn Friedman of New Jersey; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
