Carl D. Alpers

Carl D. Alpers, 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 8, 1932, in Chicago. A resident for five years, he was a retired machinist and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Victoria Novak of Las Vegas and Valerie Messick of Monteagle, Tenn.; his mother, Erna Alpers, and one brother, Robert Alpers, both of Alsip, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 until 3 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

The family suggests donations to Liberty Baptist Church, 6501 W. Lake Mead Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89128.

Raymond Aponte

Raymond Aponte, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 25, 1924, in Puerto Rico. A resident for 22 years, he was an Army and Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; four sons, George, Art, Bert and William; one daughter, Grace; one brother, Alberto; one sister, Carmen; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11:20 a.m. March 4 in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Chapel. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Julia Elizabeth Cobb

Julia Elizabeth Cobb, 95, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 28, 1906, in Love County, Okla. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Gerald Cobb of Las Vegas; two daughters, Maxine Cason of Las Vegas and Joy Dickerson of Belleville, Ill.; one brother, Tom Johnson Jr., of Vernon, Texas; one sister, Ura Lloyd Townsend of Dallas; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, followed by burial in Memory Gardens.

Paul Criswell

Paul Criswell, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 29 years, he was a retired electrician, World War II veteran and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; two daughters, Sandra Criswell of Yuba City, Calif., and Donna Criswell of Sacramento; three sons, Paul Jerome Criswell III of Yuba City, Steve Criswell of Sacramento and Mark Criswell of Las Vegas; two sisters, Mary Louse Felix of Springfield, Ohio, and Virginia Joyce of Pittsburgh; two brothers, John Criswell of Pittsburgh and Vincent Criswell of Brecksville, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Michelle Smith of Polson, Mont.; one stepson, Michael Gilbert of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 8 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Elsie Dexheimer-Hook

Elsie Dexheimer-Hook, 79, of Henderson died Thursday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Sedalia, Mo. A resident for 37 years, she was a retired schoolteacher.

She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Campbell of Henderson and Beth Brazil of Salida, Calif.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 until 2 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Christine M. Esposito

Christine M. Esposito, 27, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 2, 1975, in New York. A longtime resident, she was a human resources manager.

She is survived by her parents, Giosue and Carol Esposito of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Farmingdale, N.Y. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Paul J. Graham

Paul J. Graham, 46, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 15, 1955, in Mercedes, Texas. A resident for 10 years, he was a steelworker.

He is survived by one son, Joshua Alexander Graham of Bakersfield, Calif.; one daughter, Rachel Brasier of Fort Walton, Fla.; his father and stepmother, Marvin R. and Vera Estette Graham, of Yukon, Okla.; one brother, David Graham of Fayetteville, Ark.; and one sister, Laura Elizabeth Graham of Norman, Okla.

No services are scheduled. Burial will be in Yukon. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Laura Ann Hartle

Laura Ann Hartle, 82, of Las Vegas and Reno died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Canada. A resident for nine months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Elliott Steele of Las Vegas and Kip Steele of Gardnerville; one daughter, Celita Strouse of Neppner, Ore.; and five grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Carson City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Helen Agnes Holm

Helen Agnes Holm, 80, of Las Vegas died Feb. 15 in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 30, 1921, in New York. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Walter; one son, Kenneth; one daughter, Judy; two sisters, Anne and Noel; and five grandchildren.

William Le Blanc Jr.

William Le Blanc Jr., 41, of North Las Vegas died Monday. He was born Nov. 9, 1960, in Somerville, Mass. A resident for 10 years, he was a senior network engineer and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, Christopher Le Blanc and Joshua Le Blanc, and one daughter, Sarah Le Blanc, all of North Las Vegas; his parents, William and Eleanor Le Blanc of Fremont, N.H.; two brothers, Arthur Peters of Boston and Donald Le Blanc of Billerica, Mass.; and three sisters, Eleanor Johnstone of Fremont, Margaret Youngman of Rochester, N.Y., and RoseMarie Tomaszczuk of Raymond, N.H.

A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Friday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Belle Liebowitz

Belle Liebowitz, 84, of Las Vegas died Feb. 14 in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 17, 1917, in New York. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, George; one son, Neil Howard of Las Vegas; one daughter, Elaine DiBiase of New York; one brother, Louis Stein of San Diego; and two grandchildren.

Mary Louise Marafioti

Mary Louise Marafioti, 83, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born March 24, 1918, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, she was a beautician.

She is survived by one son, Vincent Surace of California; two daughters, Serine C. Cordaro of Henderson and Connie Spina of New Mexico; three sisters, Ann De John of Savannah, Ga., and Josephine Ealzone and Jenette Klein, both of North Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Saturday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Hites Chapel, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Vincent Joseph 'Vinnie Tanno' Nepolitan Jr.

Vincent Joseph "Vinnie Tanno" Nepolitan Jr., 69, of Las Vegas died Feb. 14 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 17, in Philadelphia. A resident for 18 years, he was a musician and a member of the Musicians Union.

He is survived by one son, Vincent Joseph Nepolitan III; one daughter, Kathleen; one brother, Frank; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Harold W. Niccum

Harold W. Niccum, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 1, 1918, in Tacoma, Wash. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired restaurant owner/operator, World War II Army veteran and a member of the Elks for 54 years and Teamsters Union.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra A.; one daughter, Frances Willis of Snowflake, Ariz.; one sister, Mildred Niccum of Seattle; two half sisters, Sandy Graham of Portland, Ore., and Candy Brown of Dutch Harbor, Ark.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Danny Price

Danny Price, 46, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 1, 1955, in California. A longtime resident, he was a truck driver.

He is survived by his parents, James and Mary Price of Riverside, Calif.

Donald Leon Ream

Donald Leon Ream, 90, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. Born Feb. 9, 1912, in Milford, Utah, he was a resident for 58 years.

He is survived by four daughters, Rene Spilker of West Jordan, Utah, Dianna Rounds of Yucaipa, Calif., and Christine Ann Hunsaker and Janice Maria Parmenter, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Paul Ream of Salt Lake City and Joseph Ream and Royal Ream, both of Henderson; 27 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services in the LDS 8th and Franklin Ward, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

James Robert Rescigno

James Robert Rescigno, 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 24, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for nine months, he was a newspaper mailer and a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his father, Ferdinand Rescigno of New York; one brother, Fred Rescigno of Manhattan, N.Y.; and two sisters, Jo Ann Manzo of Saugus, Calif., and Mary Winter of Hawaii.

Visitation is scheduled 2-5 p.m. Saturday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 12:40 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Chapel, followed by burial.

Billy D. Rhoades

Billy D. Rhoades, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 31, 1928, in Oklahoma City. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired supervisor and a member of the Indian Springs Masonic Lodge, Operating Engineers and Zelzah Shrine, Scottish Rite.

He is survived by his wife, Ann S.; two sons, Billy D. Rhoades Jr., and Charles Henry Rhoades, and one daughter, Tracy Rhoades, all of Oklahoma City; one stepson, Johnny Wynn of Las Vegas; one half brother, Arles H. George Jr., of Ventura, Calif.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Mary L. Shelton, 94, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born March 15, 1907, in Logan, Utah. A resident for 56 years, she was a retired bartender.

She is survived by three sons, Gary Mellor of Las Vegas, Mike Hahn of Henderson and Kim Spence of Lewisville, Texas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Carolyn A. Smith

Carolyn A. Smith, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 26, 1944, in Wichita, Kan. A resident for 15 years, she was a security guard.

She is survived by her husband, Arden; two sons, Michael A. Smith of Stanton, Calif., and Rick D. Smith of Windsor, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 4 p.m. today in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, followed by a private burial.

Gloria 'Tricia' Sparks

Gloria "Tricia" Sparks, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Salinas, Calif. A resident for 30 years, she was a nurse.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheri Spruell of Las Vegas and Lanette Duplissey of Indiana; one son, Brent Welzbacker of Colorado; her parents, Carl and Beulah Sparks of Las Vegas; four brothers, Carl Sparks of Geneva, Switzerland, and David Sparks, Danny Sparks and Tim Sparks, all of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

John Tripoli

John Tripoli, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 9, 1913, in Algiers. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired marble setter.

He is survived by his wife, Yola; three daughters, Joan Tromler of Oregon and Carol Broeland and Gina White, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Vivian Salerno of Florida; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pamela 'P.J.' Vegas

Pamela "P.J." Vegas, 45, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. She was born Aug. 3, 1956, in Pomona, Calif. A resident for 11 years, she was a bookkeeper for an automotive company.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio; one son, Brett Vega of Las Vegas; her mother, Vera Leach of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; two brothers, Larry Leach of Chino, Calif., and Eddie Leach of Rancho Cucamonga; and two sisters, Sherri Hughes of Rialto, Calif., and Penny Cervantes of Henderson.

A memorial service is scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Connie A. Walker

Connie A. Walker, 46, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 17, 1956, in Lowell, Mass. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, William L.; one daughter, Angela Burdick, two brothers, Ron M. Roscoe and John V. Roscoe, and one sister, Bonnie Linton, all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Taylor Williams

Taylor Williams, 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 24, 1946, in Delhi, La. A resident for 38 years, he was an automotive mechanic.

He is survived by two sons, Sean Jackson and Raymond L. McDonald, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Joyce Reynolds of Tallulah, La.; and 10 grandchildren.

Helen Jane Woods, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 1, 1915, in Phoenix. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann Burns of Las Vegas and Earleene Wilmer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Samuel Delaney Woods of Phoenix and James T. Woods of Flagstaff, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
