Jon B. Ackeret

Jon B. Ackeret, 55, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 7, 1947, in Wauwatosa, Wis. A resident for more than 30 years, he was a table games supervisor for MGM MIRAGE.

He is survived by one son, Jon A. Ackeret of Las Vegas; and one brother, Kevin Ackeret of Wisconsin.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. A private burial will follow.

The family suggests donations to the Christian Children's Fund, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA 23261.

Roberto Amigo

Roberto Amigo, 58, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1945, in the Philippines. A resident for 14 years, he was an electrician.

He is survived by his wife, Erlinda; two daughters, Lycel Amigo and Myra Amigo, and four sons, Paul Amigo, Richard Amigo, Allan Amigo and Michael Amigo, and his mother, Araceli Amigo, all of Las Vegas; six sisters; three brothers; and six grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 10 a.m.-noon today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Anthony Carras

Anthony Carras, 75, of Las Vegas died May 6 in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 5, 1927, in New York City. A resident for nine years, he was a retired electrical engineering consultant, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; three sons, Gregory Carras and Christopher Carras, both of Renton, Wash., and David Carras of North Haven, Conn.; one daughter, Susan Carras of Greenville, S.C.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Leonor DeRojas

Leonor DeRojas, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Barranquilla, Colombia. A resident for 28 years, she was a retired retail clerk.

She is survived by two brothers, Fernando Zuloaga and Tulio Zuloaga, both of Colombia; and two sisters, Rita Jamarillo of Colombia and Carmen Mahan of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Betty Fowlie

Betty Fowlie, 73, of Las Vegas died June 12 in a local hospital. She was born July 27, 1929, in Milwaukee. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired city government clerk, a St. Rose Dominican Hospital volunteer and taught adults to read at Henderson Library.

She is survived by five daughters, Susan Brunke of Arvada, Colo., Pat Barash of Aurora, Colo., Pam Jonas of Palm Coast, Fla., and Judy Lucas and Mary Murphy, both of Henderson; one son, Michael Fowlie of Denver; two sisters, Dorothy Fritsch and Joanne Huebschen, and four brothers, Ralph Radke, Harvey Radke, Robert Radke and Jack Radke, all of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Nicholas Ryan Garcia

Nicholas Ryan Garcia, 14, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 1, 1988, in Las Vegas. He graduated from Clifford J. Lawrence Junior High School.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tina and Cesar Garcia, one brother, Michael Garcia, and one stepbrother, Marco Garcia, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 5 p.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jovita Snyder Gordon

Jovita Snyder Gordon, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 14, 1923, in the Philippines. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired hospital head dietician and a member of the Phil/American Association.

She is survived by one daughter, Victoria Raines, two sons, Jessamyn Snyder and Remy George Jovenal, and one brother, Manuel Quiambao, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Amparo Fernandez of Baltimore; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. until a 3 p.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Sara Carolyn Gruen

Sara Carolyn Gruen, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 18, 1935, in New Mexico. A resident for 25 years, she was a sales clerk at an Indian smoke shop.

She is survived by three sons, Doug Evers, Chris Evers and Scott Evers; one daughter, Cindy Sutter; one sister, Nancy Byrum; and five grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Stanley H. Heath

Stanley H. Heath, 87, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local health care center. He was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Lanark, Ill. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired Army major and World War II and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Garnet J.; and two daughters, Charlene Kay Heath of Las Vegas and Nina Jewel Rutledge of Litchfield, Minn.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Graveside services will follow at noon Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

R. Brandon Marshall

R. Brandon Marshall, 36, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. He was born Oct. 26, 1966, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a gaming consultant.

He is survived by his mother, Francine Marshall, and one brother, H. Brock Marshall, both of Florida; and one sister, Annie Machado of Nevada.

A memorial service will be 7 tonight in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Louis Eugene Martorano

Louis Eugene Martorano, 74, of Boulder City died Wednesday in Boulder City. He was born March 13, 1929, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Norah Lee; four sons, John Martorano of Oregon, Randall Martorano of Nevada, Albert "Nick" Martorano of Florida and Rikard Bosco Martorano of Connecticut; one daughter, Norah Lee Martorano of Colorado; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 8:40 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, is handling arrangements.

Robert Allan Rogers

Robert Allan Rogers, 47, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A tile mason and a member of Checkers Motorcycle Club, he was born July 20, 1955, in California.

He is survived by two daughters, Rachelle Hoole of Oregon and Cherie Goman of Washington state; two sons, Jesse Rogers and Dillon Rogers, and his mother, Darlene Ann Davis, all of California; his father, Alfred Robert Rogers of Nevada; three sisters, Diana Richmond, Jeanie Oldenburg and Joanie Perez, and two brothers, Edward J. Rogers and Ronald C. Rogers, all of California; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Church of the Nazarene, 3825 Pecos-McLeod. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Ronald D. Romano

Ronald D. Romano, 60, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1942, in Morristown, N.J. A resident for 30 years, he was a floor manager in the gaming industry and played bass as a jazz musician.

He is survived by one daughter, Patricia; his mother, Antoinette Romano, two brothers, Anthony Romano and Carmine Romano, and one sister, Patricia Ann Linfante, all of New Jersey.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus, 3001 S. Rose Parkway, Henderson, NV 89052.

Carl S. Thomas

Carl S. Thomas, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1941, in Detroit. A resident for six years, he was a retired laborer in the automotive industry.

He is survived by three sons, Karl Thomas and Stanley Thomas, both of Detroit, and Eugene Thomas of Arizona; and one daughter, Carla Thomas of Atlanta.

Renetta M. Tillman

Renetta M. Tillman, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born July 20, 1910, in Iowa. A resident for 53 years, she was a retired hotel hostess.

She is survived by one daughter, Jeannie Hall, and one grandson, Richard Hall, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Edward Tyndall

Edward Tyndall, 79, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born July 20, 1923, in Kinston, N.C. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force and Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Doris L.; two sons, Roger Dale Tyndall and Robert Allen Tyndall, both of Las Vegas; four brothers, Raymond Tyndall of Virginia Beach, Va., Paul Tyndall of Asheville, N.C., John Tyndall of Chandler, N.C., and Milton Tyndall of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Florence Ligatti of Asheville; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
