Florence A. Compobasso

Florence A. Compobasso, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday. She was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Illinois. A resident for many years, she was an auditor for a retail sales company.

She is survived by her husband, James.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Illinois. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Shaka Raurice Culbreth

Shaka Raurice Culbreth, 30, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 5, 1973, in North Carolina. A resident for five years, he was a hotel desk clerk.

He is survived by his parents, Anne and Jimmy Culbreth of Glen Allen, Va.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Fayetteville, N.C. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson is handling arrangements.

Nancy Dowdy

Nancy Dowdy, 48, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 7, 1954, in Las Vegas. A resident for 10 years, she was a nurse's aide.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Dowdy Adams of Medford, N.Y.; and her parents, Percy and Amy (Williams) Taylor of New York.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in New York state. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Pauline Friedman

Pauline Friedman, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born March 29, 1917, in New York City. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker and a member of Chabad of Summerlin.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Israel; one daughter, Elaine Gamson of Las Vegas; and one grandson.

Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Don A. Garbati

Don A. Garbati, 62, of Memphis, Mo., died Sunday in a Memphis care center. He was born June 6, 1941, in Barre, Vt. A former Las Vegas resident, he was an employee of Southwest Gas, owned the Cheese Post and was a member of the Downing Lions Club, both in Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Brooke; two stepchildren, Rosemary Harris of Memphis and C.J. Brose of St. Joseph, Mo.; his mother, Dorothy Garbati of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Selma Marie Hickey of Las Vegas and Sylvia Ann McElreoth of Sweet Home, Ore.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Vermont. Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, is handling arrangements.

Amber Chapman Germano

Amber Chapman Germano, 22, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born May 25, 1981, in Las Vegas. She was a cosmetologist.

She is survived by her mother, Karen Germano, and her father, Michael Chapman.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Norman Gindrat

Norman Gindrat, 80, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born July 18, 1923, in Camden, N.J. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired project manager for the federal government, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran and a member of the Daedalians.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; three sons, Norman R. Gindrat III of Colorado Springs, Colo., Robert Gindrat of Highland Village, Texas, and Steven Gindrat of Park City, Utah; four daughters, Marsha Miller of Duxbury, Mass., Pamela Stiegerwald of Owens Cross Roads, Ala., Susan Smith of Germany and Laura Goral of Swanee, Ga.; two stepsons, John Lockwood of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Robert Lockwood of Henderson; two stepdaughters, Deborah Rogers of Noblesville, Ind., and Dona Pettitt of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; 27 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Jean Masseli

Jean Masseli, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 18, 1933, in New York. A resident for many years, she was a bookstore clerk.

She is survived by her husband, George A.

Leona Mae (Austin) Meredith

Leona Mae (Austin) Meredith, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 5, 1929, in Coal City, Utah. A resident for 50 years, she was a service station owner.

She is survived by one daughter, Vicki L. Doll of Zillah, Wash.; one son, Rocklyn G. Austin of American Fork, Utah; one sister, Marie Chadwick of Kansas; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd.

Muhammad Mustafa

Muhammad Mustafa, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 1, 1938, in Palestine. A resident for 15 years, he was a teacher at a community college.

He is survived by his wife, Fatma Abdulkhader Mustafa; four sons, Muhammad Mustafa, Ibrahim Mustafa, Muin Mustafa and Wahbeh Mustafa; two brothers, Muin Mustafa and Ibrahim Mustafa; two sisters, Zena Mustafa and Sumaia Mustafa; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Michael Palladino

Michael Palladino, 22, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 25, 1981, in New Jersey. A lifelong resident, he was a bus person and a former student of Valley High School.

He is survived by his mother, Carol, and one sister, Victoria Ann Kanblorian, both of New York City; and his grandparents, Carol and Anthony Pallidino of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be noon Monday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Wiley R. Price Jr.

Wiley R. Price Jr., 96, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 4, 1907, in Hamilton, Texas. A resident for 35 years, he was a geologist in oil exploration for 30 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Babette Jarvis of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Howard William Redmond

Howard William Redmond, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 12, 1949, in Massachusetts. A resident for two years, he was a painter.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E.; and his parents, Martha and Howard W. Redmond Sr. of Masschusetts.

Doris A. Smith

Doris A. Smith, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 5, 1948, in Jackson, Miss. A resident for 24 years, she was a hotel porter.

She is survived by three daughters, Bobbie Andrews and Angel Smith, both of Las Vegas, and Doris Andrews of Jackson; one son, Terry Lee Andrews, and her mother, Assie Bloodwaw, both of Jackson; five sisters, Bernice Smith of Milwaukee, Alberta Fairly, Ida Mae Coleman and Marie Howard, all of Jackson, and Charlie Mae Williams of Chicago; three brothers, Robert Lee Andrews and R.P. Andrews, both of Jackson, and Richard Lee Andrews of Chicago; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Main.

Mi-Cheal Smith

Mi-Cheal Smith, 31, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 15, 1972, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a telemarketer, a member of the gospel group Heart of David and was a deacon at his church.

He is survived by his wife, Brandy; three daughters, Jalisa Smith, Myia Smith and Seirra Smith, three sons, Mekell Smith III, Zachi Smith and Able Guerin, his mother, Pamela William, two brothers, Marcu Perkins and Ray Perkins, and one sister, Satima Williamson, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Sunday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be noon Monday in Moments of Blessing House of Prayer, 1401 N. Decatur Blvd. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Art M. Valenzuela Jr.

Art M. Valenzuela Jr., 51, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born March 9, 1952, in Santa Rita, N.M. A resident for 12 years, he was an insurance agent.

He is survived by his parents, Emilia M. and Arturo J. Valenzuela of Henderson; and two sisters, Rosalind V. Hirsch of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Elizabeth M. Bedwell of Santa Ana, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled noon until a 3 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
