Myrtle F. Baxter

Myrtle F. Baxter, 91, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born June 12, 1912, in Trenton, Utah. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Carole Pack of Hattiesville, Ark., Barbara Baxter of Las Vegas and Mary Anne Hebert of Jacksonville, Ore.; one son, Max D. Baxter of Long Beach, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in the LDS chapel at Alta Drive and Jones Boulevard. Burial will be in California.

Penelope Boone

Penelope Boone, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1951, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 52 years, she was a casino cashier and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; and two brothers, Rocky and Skip.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park.

Marisi O. Chambers

Marisi O. Chambers, 64, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born April 13, 1939, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired travel agent.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie S.

A memorial service will be noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Victor S. Diza Sr.

Victor S. Diza Sr., 72, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born May 8, 1931, in Claveria Cagayan, Philippines. A resident for two months, he was a driver for Cuenca Construction.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; seven sons, Victor Diza Jr., Henry Diza, Pancho Diza, Joselito Diza, Doroteo Diza, Eleonor Diza and Darwin Diza; and three daughters, Evelyn Diza, Melanie Franklin and Cely Ea.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St. Burial will be in the Philippines.

Edward Grosswirth

Edward Grosswirth, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 13, 1919, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired sales agent for a bakery supplier.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; one son, Cary Grosswirth of Mission Viejo, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Sheryl Williams of Las Vegas and Kimberly Algie of Torrance, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is private. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Clay Kenneth Hadlock

Clay Kenneth Hadlock, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 26, 1919, in Lost Hills, Calif. A resident for 14 years, he was an engineer for Hughes Aircraft.

He is survived by his wife, Patti; six children; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Juan Jodra Sr.

Juan Jodra Sr., 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born July 23, 1928, in Havana. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired casino dealer.

He is survived by one son, Juan Jodra Jr., one daughter, Maria Maguire, two brothers, Valentin Jodra and Rogelio Jodra, and one sister, Rosa de Leon, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until a 3 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Henry Johnson

Henry Johnson, 76, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Pembroke, Ky. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired shoe shiner and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ollie Walker Johnson; two daughters, Evola Johnson of Los Angeles and Geraldine Walker of Saginaw, Mich.; three sons, Leffie Walker, Jeffrey Walker and Major Walker, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Harvey Wilson of Rialto, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Allan Leslie

Allan Leslie, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 12, 1943, in Indianapolis. A resident for 13 years, he was a registered nurse at a hospice and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; one daughter, Stephanie Burdick, and one son, Robert, both of Ely; his parents, Hillery and Juanita Lesley of San Diego; one brother, Richard of Michigan; and four grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Gladys Logan

Gladys Logan, 63, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 13, 1940, in Louisiana. A resident for 15 years, she was a dental office manager.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Logan, Barrett Logan and James Logan; one daughter, Domonique Logan; one brother, Walter Poindexter; four sisters, Coloria Payne, Ruby Rose, Mable Hansbrough and Ramona Poindexter; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 2-4 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Miriam Makadonsky

Miriam Makadonsky, 86, of Las Vegas died Jan. 18 in a local care center. A homemaker, she was born June 24, 1917, in Pennsylvania.

She is survived by one daughter, Marcia; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Agnes Lorraine Nobuyama

Agnes Lorraine Nobuyama, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 13, 1920, in Indianapolis. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired department store clerk.

She is survived by her husband, Tats; two brothers, Harold Patterson of Searchlight and Edward Patterson of Middleburg, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.

Maurice Pastor

Maurice Pastor, 92, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 11, 1911, in Austria. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired entrepreneur.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; two sons, Herb and Sidney, both of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Rosie Lee Peeples

Rosie Lee Peeples, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 21, 1936, in Montgomery, Ala. A resident for 33 years, she was a retired Bally's employee.

She is survived by three sons, Garry, Greg and Erick; one daughter, Elaine; and grandchildren.

Odis Thompson

Odis Thompson, 62, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in North Las Vegas. He was born May 9, 1941, in Epps, La. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired Caesars Palace bartender and previously worked at the Nevada Test Site.

He is survived by his wife, Vertis; one son, Odis Tyrone of Las Vegas; one daughter, Sonja Barnum, and his mother, Georgia Mae Thompson, both of North Las Vegas; five sisters, Maybell Jefferson, Shelly White and Tena Postell, all of North Las Vegas, Beatrice Soares of Henderson and Dianne Long of Las Vegas; three brothers, Johnnie Thompson and Freddie Thompson, both of North Las Vegas, and Ronnie Thompson of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1240 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park.

Florence E. Ziegler

Florence E. Ziegler, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by five sons, Paul Ziegler of Columbus, Ohio, Philip Ziegler of Johnson Creek, Wis., Robert Ziegler of Finley, N.D., Ralph Ziegler of Perry, Ohio, and George Ziegler of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; two daughters, Ann Ashby and Mary Cross, both of Las Vegas; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
