Welfredo Baja

Welfredo Baja, 40, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1963, in Cebu, Philippines. A resident for one year, he worked in casino hard count.

He is survived by his wife, Cristeta A. Payabyab; one daughter, Marie Lizette F. Baja, two sons, Wilfredo F. Baja Jr. and James Ruben F. Baja, and one sister, Virginia Escobido, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, followed by services at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Silveria S. Belmonte

Silveria S. Belmonte, 90, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born June 20, 1914, in the Philippines. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Elmer Belmonte of North Las Vegas, Ruly Belmonte and Bayani Belmonte, both of San Diego; two daughters, Perla Arellano and Olga Alanis, both of San Diego; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be private. Services will be 5 p.m. Sunday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Tom D. Champagne

Tom D. Champagne, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born March 25, 1933, in Arlington, Wash. A resident for eight years, he was a retired airlines planner, an Air Force veteran and a member of Show Stoppers.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three daughters, Deana Niebla of North Las Vegas, Kathie Champagne of Las Vegas, Geri-Ann King of Valencia, Calif.; one sister, Geri Reed of Fernley; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Josephine De Bella

Josephine De Bella, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 6, 1930, in Illinois. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired casino cage employee.

She is survived by two sons, Phillip Asta and Tony Asta; one brother, Tony De Bella; one sister, Mary Ann De Bella; and four grandchildren.

Services are private. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

William Lewis Haney

William Lewis Haney, 61, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 20, 1943, in Lewistown, Mont. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired super market meat cutter.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; two daughters, Monica McCall and Kelley Bustamante, both of Henderson; one son, Scott Haney of Payson, Utah; two sisters, Ricki Ruiz of San Jose, Calif, Irene Ochs of Portland, Ore.; three brothers, Robert Harper of Portland, Steve Harper of Colfax, Calif., and Bob Haney of California; his stepmother, Mary Haney of Lewistown; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday with services following at the LDS Arrowhead Stake Center, 801 Arrowhead Trail, Henderson. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Zelda Kugler

Zelda Kugler, 80, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Chicago. A resident for 1 1/2 years, she was a retired clothing store owner.

She is survived by one daughter, Denise Kugler of Las Vegas; one son, Craig Kugler of Prospect Heights, Ill.; and one sister, Jeanette Israel of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be at 10:40 a.m. Monday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Anne Patricia "Pat" Lane

Anne Patricia 'Pat' Lane, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday. She was born Dec. 24, 1920.

She is survived by four daughters, Peggy Lane and Suzanne Lane, both of Troy Mich., Kathy Kredo of Las Vegas and MJ Lane of Arvada, Colo.; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday in Las Vegas. Neptune Society of Nevada, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Building 5. handled arrangements.

Cora Maxwell

Cora Maxwell, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 31, 1915, in Texas. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her sister, Rose Bishop of Las Vegas.

Private services and burial were scheduled at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Covina, Calif. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Shirley Jean Pride

Shirley Jean Pride, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 12, 1935, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired hotel baby sitter.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda O'Callahan of Las Vegas; one sister, Sharon Quintana of Wauconda, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Viola Lucille Richards

Viola Lucille Richards, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. She was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Missouri. She was a coordinator of a bowling center.

She is survived by her husband, Harlan; three sons, James Harlan Richards of Henderson, Joseph Eldridge and Billie Eldridge, both of California; three daughters, Kathy Stauch and Patty Blackerby, both of Missouri, and Linda Richards of Henderson; and two sisters, Erma Spence of Missouri and Annie Knight of Kansas.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave.

Blanche Rumpp

Blanche Rumpp, 95, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born June 16, 1909, in Rice Lake, Wis. She was a retired real estate manager.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Wrolstad and one granddaughter, Tracy Hurst, both of Las Vegas.

Sue Schlepitz

Sue Schlepitz, 62, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 5, 1941, in Somerset, Ky. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Darvin; one daughter, D'Vonna Varner of Las Vegas; one son, Darvin Schlepitz Jr. of Los Angeles; and one grandchild.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Mary Arlene Smith

Mary Arlene Smith, 93, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 12, 1910, in Panaca. A resident for 73 years, she was a retired Metro Police secretary.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Park.

Robert Leroy Smith

Robert Leroy Smith, 71, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. He was born Nov. 26, 1932, in Chester, Pa. He was a member of Boulder City Elks, Democratic Party, the Billiard Congress of America and Board of Realtors.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Kelly; and two sons, Richard Smith of Porterville, Calif., Joe Kelly of Boulder City; two daughters, Tamara Horn of Virginia Beach, Va., Peggy Durfey of Boulder City; one brother, Jay C. Smith of Dallas; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Boulder City Elks Lodge, 1217 Nevada Highway. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, handled arrangements.

Faith Ann Thomas

Faith Ann Thomas, 51, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born April 15, 1953, in Canton, Ohio. A resident for nine years, she was a university dentist, a Gulf War era Air Force veteran, a member of the American Dental Association and Assistant Program Director of University of Nevada School of Medicine Dental Residency Program.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn W.; two daughters, Tiffany M. Simmons and Jenny E. Thomas, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Tim L. Cookson of Canton.

Visitation is private. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the LDS Hillpointe Ward, 9011 Hillpointe Drive. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled arrangements.
