L. James 'Jim' Beebe

L. James "Jim" Beebe, 71, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 14, 1933, in Salinas, Calif. A resident for more than 30 years, he was a retired telephone company supervisor, an emergency room volunteer at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals' Rose de Lima campus for more than nine years, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Martha Van Den Hemel of Salem, S.D., and Michele Kelsey of Las Vegas; two sons, Michael Beebe of Reno and James Beebe of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Barbara Atkinson of Reno; one brother, Lawrence Beebe of McKinleyville, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Sandy Lee Cantrell

Sandy Lee Cantrell, 62, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 7, 1942, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; and one daughter, Lisa Williams of Flagstaff, Ariz.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Marta Marie Fonseca

Marta Marie Fonseca, 54, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 23, 1950, in Johnson City, N.Y. A resident for two years, she was an administrator for a credit card company.

She is survived by two sons, Ryan Horner of Las Vegas and Tony Fonseca of Henderson; one brother, Richard Carlson of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Douglas James Haugen

Douglas James Haugen, 53, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 25, 1952, in Washington state. A resident for 36 years, he was a convention technician and a member of Teamsters Local 631.

He is survived by his wife, Nona Moreland; two sons, Brad Haugen and Andrew Haugen; one daughter, Tina Marie Haugen; one brother, Dave Haugen; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Eugene Thomas Kinnane

Eugene Thomas Kinnane, 75, of Boulder City died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born July 19, 1929, in Urbana, Ill. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired electrical engineer for the federal government.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; one daughter, Dorann Davis of Parker, Ariz.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Levitt

Kenneth Levitt, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 19, 1921, in New York City. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired administrative director at a hotel and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; and one son, Richard Levitt of New York City.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Betty M. Lockner

Betty M. Lockner, 79, of Sheridan, Wyo., died Thursday in a Wyoming hospital. She was born June 19, 1925, in Cleveland. A former Las Vegas resident, she was an employee of the Department of Motor Vehicles, a cashier at a home improvement center and a riveter in an airplane factory during World War II.

She is survived by one son, Ed Salvatore of Ucross, Wyo.; one daughter, Susan Campbell of Las Vegas; one grandson; and one great-grandson.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Champion Ferries Funeral Home, Sheridan, Wyo., assisted with arrangements.

Marilyn Mehr

Marilyn Mehr, 59, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 14, 1945, in Boston. A resident for 24 years, she was an office manager.

She is survived by her husband, Ben; two daughters, Hilary Moskowitz and Adrienne Berman, both of Las Vegas; one son, Michael Mehr of Henderson; and three grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, followed by graveside services in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, handled arrangements.

Lorraine Meighan

Lorraine Meighan, 81, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born June 25, 1923, in Chicago. A resident for 48 years, she was a homemaker and a former member of the Palo Verde Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Samuel.

She is survived by two daughters, Charlene Brooks and Rene Ornelas, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Don Meighan of Las Vegas and Robert Meighan of Henderson; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Thursday in the LDS Ocean Street chapel. Graveside services will be private.

Helen H. Mylan

Helen H. Mylan, 90, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1914, in Ohio. A resident for many years, she was a retired hotel saleswoman.

She is survived by one niece, Shirley Griffith of Fullerton, Calif.; and one nephew, Terry Heiselan of Marion, Ohio.

Carol Lynn O'Donnell

Carol Lynn O'Donnell, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 26, 1940, in Staten Island, N.Y. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired bank manager.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony; one son, Edward Kiena Jr. of Las Vegas; three daughters, Jana Kiena Garber of San Diego, Laura Kiena of Los Angeles and Kerry Campolong of Pittsburgh; one brother, James Wilgus of Gladstone, N.J.; one sister, Katherine Kaul of South Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Bernice Aurora Mayte Owen-Boer

Bernice Aurora Mayte Owen-Boer, 44, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 10, 1960, in Utah. A resident for seven years, she was a department store saleswoman.

She is survived by her husband, John Owen; one daughter, Maranda Owen of Las Vegas; and her mother, Carmen Escobedo of Paramount, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Dolores J. Rhyner

Dolores J. Rhyner, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 28, 1933, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 18 years, she was a hostess in the food service industry for 25 years and past matron of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth H. Rhyner of Las Vegas and Jack A. Rhyner II of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Michelle Patrick and Janeen C. Kushner, both of Pittsburgh; two brothers, John B. Pizzuti of Pittsburgh and Regis K. Pizzuti of Phoenix; one sister, Geraldine McElhaney of Imperial, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Armelda N. Rudd

Armelda N. Rudd, 75, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 12, 1930, in Batesville, Miss. A resident for 42 years, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Casey.

She is survived by five daughters, Mary C. McCoy, Irma J. Moore, Joan L. Green and Gail D. Felton, all of North Las Vegas, and Marilyn A. Carson of Las Vegas; one son, Gabriel Rudd Jr. of North Las Vegas; three sisters, Rosie Simpson of Las Vegas, Mildred Valentine of Detroit and Dorothy Valentine of Mississippi; one brother, L.M. Neal of Louisiana; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Virginia Miller Weber

Virginia Miller Weber, 91, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 5, 1913, in Freeport, Ill. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara W. Emrick of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Vincent Anthony Zampa

Vincent Anthony Zampa, 38, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 23, 1966, in Inglewood, Calif. A resident for nine years, he was a real estate sales agent.

He is survived by one son, Vincent Robert Zampa, three daughters, Ashley Zampa, Sidney Zampa and Allexandra Gohr, and his beloved, Diana Glassman, all of Las Vegas; his mother and stepfather, Dorothy Zampa-Lagana and Joe Lagana of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and three sisters, Jeannie O'Flaherty of Long Beach, Calif., Susie Derleth of Las Vegas and Jennifer Lemmon of Lake Havasu City.

Services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
