Walter Carter

Walter Carter, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. A retired lighting company foreman and a World War II Navy veteran, he was born July 8, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne; and two daughters, Ruth McKenna of Farmingdale, N.Y., and Patty Carter of North Massapequa, N.Y.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 8 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

The family suggests donations to Miracle Flights for Kids, 2756 N. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson, NV 89014.

Michael G. Elliott

Michael G. Elliott, 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1954, in Battle Creek, Mich. A resident for 15 years, he was a systems technician for the Clark County Fire Department.

He is survived by two brothers, Terry Elliott of Lake Geneva, Wis., and Douglas Elliott of Battle Creek.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Clark County Fire Department Training Center. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Edna H. Franz

Edna H. Franz, 82, of Las Vegas died April 23 in a local hospital. She was born July 31, 1922, in St. Louis. A resident for 37 years, she was a retired cashier in the gaming industry.

She is survived by two sons, Dave Franz and Michael Franz, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Norman C. Farrington Jr. of Woodridge, Va., and Charles W. Farrington of Erie, Pa.; one sister, Norma Haft of Erie; and two grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Katherine E. Gaiser

Katherine E. Gaiser, 86, of Las Vegas died April 19 in Las Vegas. She was born May 12, 1918, in Elwood City, Pa. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by one daughter, Roxanne Evans of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert L. Gaiser of Santa Rosa, Calif., and John M. Gaiser of Washington, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will be in Michigan.

Joseph L. Haughaboo Jr.

Joseph L. Haughaboo Jr., 84, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 26, 1921, in Maysville, Ky. A resident for 54 years, he was a retired casino supervisor who worked at several local hotels including the Dunes and Caesars Palace, a World War II Marine Corps veteran who was a Purple Heart recipient after being wounded on Iwo Jima, a member of the National Rifle Association, Marine Corps League and the Society of Widowed Persons.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; four daughters, Joyce Edmondson of Fort Wright, Ky., Sissy Hagedorn of Fort Mitchell, Ky., Sharon Johnson of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Jodee Haughaboo of New Jersey; two sons, James Haughaboo and William Haughaboo, both of Henderson; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Arthur Alan Hergett

Arthur Alan Hergett, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 28, 1938, in Springfield, Ill. A resident for 26 years, he was a videographer.

He is survived by his wife, Janette; one son, Mark Hergett, one daughter, Michelle Hergett, and one brother, Phillip Hergett, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Thursday in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

William Hinde

William Hinde, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 5, 1919, in Early, Iowa. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired contractor and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Dale Hinde and Darrell Hinde, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. May 14 in the Pioche LDS chapel. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Justin Jackson

Justin Jackson, 16, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1989, in Las Vegas. He was a sophomore at Rancho High School.

He is survived by his father, Benny Jackson of North Las Vegas; his mother, Dorothea Valentine, six sisters, Shannon Henshaw, Samie Juanita Punjabi, Alejandra Castaneda, Dorothea Clark, Charmaine Jackson and Lena Jackson, and two brothers, Miguel Angel Castaneda and Benny Jackson II, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled three hours prior to a 3 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Daniel John Mundy

Daniel John Mundy, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 10, 1923, in California. A resident for 19 years, he was a lobbyist for building trades, a Navy veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; and one son, Patrick.

Jeffrey Price Murphy

Jeffrey Price Murphy, 44, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 20, 1960, in California. A resident for 15 years, he was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Danielle Murphy, Jennifer Murphy and Ashley Murphy; and four sisters, Tina Richardson, Debbie Ziegler, Wilma Murphy and Sherrie Wilson.

Graveside services were scheduled at 10:40 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Reymundo Reyes

Reymundo Reyes, 2, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 12, 2003, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Dolly and Carlos Reyes, two sisters, Desiree Hernandez and Rosslyn Reyes, and one brother, Carlo Reyes, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon until a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Raymunda Bolante Versola

Raymunda Bolante Versola, 92, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. She was born March 15, 1913, in San Antonio Abra, Philippines. A resident for two years, she was a retired teacher.

She is survived by one daughter, Clara Garces of Henderson; two sons, Fernando Versola of Bloomfield, N.J., and Manuel Versola of Raleigh, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday with a 6 p.m. vigil in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Friday in Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 55 E. Reno Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Donald Luther Waldrip

Donald Luther Waldrip, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Havre, Mont. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired electrician and a World War II Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dale Waldrip; and two brothers, Harold Waldrip and Clinton Waldrip.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; two sons, Donnivan Waldrip and Darwin Waldrip, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, D'Arcy Casady of Salt Lake City; one brother, Ted Waldrip of Seattle; six sisters, Lorena Rick and Linda Swallow, both of Havre, June Karfstedt of Seattle, Neomia Bitterman of Powder Springs, Ga., Carolee Walls of Greensboro, Md., and Nevella Hall of Great Falls, Mont.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main.

Jeremy John 'Smiley' Warren

Jeremy John "Smiley" Warren, 28, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1976, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a delicatessen manager.

He is survived by one daughter, Robin Kealy Warren of Las Vegas; his parents, John and Marilyn Warren of Henderson; one sister, Amber Robin of Jacksonville, Fla.; and his grandparents, Millie Warren of Las Vegas, Elden Warren of North Las Vegas and Elna Hampton of Salina, Utah.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

William T. Whitcomb

William T. Whitcomb, 84, of Boulder City died Saturday in Longwood, Fla. He was born July 21, 1920, in Kemerer, Wyo. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired electrical engineer in the aerospace industry and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Billy Whitcomb of San Francisco and Tom Whitcomb of Longwood, Fla.; one sister, Enid L. Barnes of Mission Viejo, Calif.; two brothers, Howard R. Whitcomb of Tustin, Calif., and Jim Whitcomb of Albuquerque; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 9:20 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
