Laurence Bonowski

Laurence Bonowski, 70, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 18, 1934, in Sioux City, Iowa. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired manager in the aerospace industry and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two stepsons, Darryl Larrimore and Edward Williams, both of Henderson; one sister, Margo Caplinger of Old Hickory, Tenn.; two brothers, Karl Bonowski Jr. and Ronald Anderson, both of Sioux City; and five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday with a 6 p.m. vigil at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Inez E. Britt

Inez E. Britt, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 31, 1914, in Tuskegee, Ala. A resident for six years, she was a retired nurse.

She is survived by two sons, Ira Thomas of Las Vegas and Harold F. Thomas of Los Angeles; one daughter, Shirley A. Thomas of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Richard 'Coop' Cooper

Richard "Coop" Cooper, 73, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired dealer and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; one son, Scott Becker of Columbus, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane., is handling arrangements.

Louis A. Friedman

Louis A. Friedman, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 22, 1922, in Des Moines, Iowa. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired insurance salesman and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Mark E. Friedman of Las Vegas; one sister, Delores Rosenberg of Des Moines; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Shirley J. Kanippi

Shirley J. Kanippi, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 10, 1942, in Arkansas. A resident for 30 years, she was a casino change person.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Sr.; one son, Raymond II; one daughter, Kathy; two sisters, Clara and Inez; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 5 p.m. service Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Max V. Leavitt

Max V. Leavitt, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 9, 1920, in Delta, Utah. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Wayne Leavitt and Newell Leavitt, both of Nevada; two sisters, Janice Voorhies of Salt Lake City and Maxine Whitney of Great Falls, Mont.; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday at the LDS Sloan/Alcott chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Philip Joseph Leone

Philip Joseph Leone, 72, of Las Vegas died April 26 in Las Vegas. He was born May 30, 1933, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 43 years, he was a Metro Police officer, an Army veteran, a member of the Metro Intelligence Detectives and the North Las Vegas Municipal Golf Course.

He is survived by one son, Alan Philip Leone; three sisters, Carmella, Frances and Josephine; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-noon Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jack MacFarlane

Jack MacFarlane, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1942, in Payson, Utah. He was a retired operating engineer, a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of Operating Engineers Local 12.

He is survived by his wife, Aleta; four daughters, Desi of Wyoming, Dana of Oklahoma, Johanna of Arkansas and Ferrell of Las Vegas; one son, Jack, and one brother, Les MacFarlane, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Pam Robertson of Utah.

Kelly F. Naples

Kelly F. Naples, 96, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born May 13, 1908, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 53 years, he was a retired contractor.

He is survived by three daughters, Madelyn Montgomery, Claire Eisinger and Rosemary Naples, and one son, Kelly Naples Jr., all of Las Vegas; one sister, Carmilla Williams of Tustin, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Nonann J. 'Cindy' Nicholson

Nonann J. "Cindy" Nicholson, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 31, 1934, in Illinois. A resident for 16 years, she was a bookkeeper and a member of the Foster Grandparents Association for 12 years.

She is survived by one niece, Carol Humble.

Services will be 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

L.C. Poole

L.C. Poole, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born Jan. 27, 1918, in Arkansas. A resident for 49 years, he was a hotel porter.

He is survived by four sons, Dwight Poole, Larry Poole, Tony Poole and Michael Poole, two daughters, Stephanie Brass and Janice Ward, and one brother, Louis Poole, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Louise Watson of Madison, Ark., and Ella Martin of Wisconsin; 38 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in True Love Missionary Baptist church, 1941 H. St. Burial will be private.

Lawrence Anthony Rutt

Lawrence Anthony Rutt, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A systems analyst for Hilton Resorts International, he was born April 14, 1954, in Chicago.

He is survived by one son, L. Anthony Rutt II of Las Vegas, his mother, Mary Rutt of Texas; one sister, Rosemary Baker of California; and two brothers, James Rutt of Illinois and Otto Rutt Jr. of Texas.

Lorraine Shurson

Lorraine Shurson, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Chicago. A resident for 25 years, she was retired.

She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Bede of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Frank Warren

Frank Warren, 79, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Lackawanna, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired technical illustrator and writer for an engineering firm, a World War II Navy veteran, an Eagle Scout and a member of Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia DePackh; four daughters, Kathy Burger and Gwen Warren, both of Columbus, Ohio, Alison Warren of Portland, Ore., and Sharon Bogle of Houston; two sons, Steve Warren of Columbus and John Warren of Trenton, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Diane Guberti of Henderson and Charmaine DePackh of West Hills, Calif.; two stepsons, Tim DePackh of West Hills and Terry DePackh of Temecula, Calif.; one sister, Dottie Latham of Providence, R.I.; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Eugenia Washington

Eugenia Washington, 74, of Las Vegas died April 28 in a local hospital. She was born May 10, 1930, in Louisiana. A resident for 51 years, she was a retired Clark County School District custodian.

She is survived by two sons, Leon Washington Jr. of Henderson and David L. Washington of Las Vegas; four daughters, Alma Hewitt, Catherine Richardson, Moneta Armstrong and Ruby Turner, two sisters, Georgia Grayson and Magnolia Kennedy, and two brothers, Joe Watkins Jr. and Freddie Watkins, all of Las Vegas; 22 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is private. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at College Park Baptist Church, 2101 E. Owens Ave., North Las Vegas. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
