A collision with a vehicle critically injured a skateboarder Tuesday evening in the central part of the valley.
Metro Police said Harrison Riddle, 25, of Las Vegas, was trying to cross Decatur Boulevard from west to east at the road's intersection with Alta Drive. Investigators said Riddle was crossing against a red traffic signal shortly before 7 p.m. when a southbound 2008 Cadillac with a green light struck Riddle in the center of three southbound travel lanes.
The driver of the Cadillac, Barbara Battistoni, 82, of Las Vegas, suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
Police said Riddle was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit with life-threatening injuries.
The Metro Police Accident Investigation Detail is investigating the crash.
