Get set for another round of thunderstorms in southern Nevada today that could bring flash flooding.

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a flash flood watch until 10 tonight for an area that includes the Las Vegas Valley.

At 1:41 p.m., the weather service's radar showed that thunderstorms were developing on the crest and the east slopes of the Spring Mountains, so the weather service issued a flood advisory through 4 p.m. for roadways and washes in that area. However, that area still remains in a flash flood watch through 10 p.m.

Scattered thunderstorms will develop through this evening across southeast Nevada, which could produce rainfall rates between 1 and 2 inches per hour, the weather service said.

Heavy rain and isolated flash flooding will be the main hazards, although strong wind gusts and hail could also be part of a few storms, the weather service said.

The watch area includes Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Sheep Range, Spring Mountains and Red Rock Canyon and also northeast, western and southern Clark County, southern Nye County and Lincoln County.

Today's high temperature will top out at 100 degrees.

Tonight's forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m.
