The integration of the conservative movement in Nevada is complete. The Review-Journal’s coverage of alleged excesses at the convention authority has exposed the interconnections. The merits of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s spending aside, we now know that the Nevada Policy Research Institute (motto: transparency for all except us) spoon fed the information to the R-J and appears to be the newspaper’s unpaid (I assume) research arm. The timing of stories and the presence on the NPRI board of Sandsman Sheldon Adelson’s lieutenant, whose boss hates the LVCVA, complete the circle. A billionaire speaks and a paper prints his agenda. Well, they needed a replacement for Bob Beers, right?
