The U.S. Marshal's Service announced Friday afternoon that it made two arrests in Las Vegas in unrelated cases.

In one case, an alleged gang member from California who was wanted for an armed robbery Tuesday in Las Vegas was arrested.

Manuel Richardson, 20, is accused of robbing a man at gunpoint and fleeing with more than $500 on the east side of Las Vegas, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Richardson was arrested without incident in the area of Dumont and Cambridge, officers said.

In another case, an Arizona man was arrested in Las Vegas today after he failed to register as a sex offender.

John W. Russell, 35, was arrested without incident near Bonanza Road and Main Street. Russell, whose victim was a child, has been convicted of sexual abuse in the first degree.

Russell was booked into the Clark County Detention Center pending extradition to Arizona.

Both men were arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service's Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
