FLASHPOINT:
If you don’t think some hunters have issues …

If you don’t think some hunters have issues, consider a story reported last week in USA Today. Seems the Nevada Wildlife Department is trying to prosecute a man for chasing a deer with an ATV to prematurely knock the antlers off the poor buck. It’s happening in other states, too, prompting this priceless quote from a Montana official: “If it’s done right, it’s legitimate recreation and it can be a lot of fun. It’s like a giant Easter egg hunt. But when you have people pushing them around trying to knock antlers off, it’s not helpful.” I gather this is called “shed hunting” and wildlife officials want to close winter ranges to try to prevent it. I gather the goal is to protect the animals — so they can be properly hunted and killed later, I suppose.
