As zany as ever, Mayor Oscar Goodman is. We don’t get too
many lectures to fourth graders on the pleasures of being a chronic inebriate or threats to lop off thumbs of graffiti scofflaws anymore. But he can still get off a winner if the mood suits him. On Thursday, when he was asked what he told a Dutch politician about the impact of gambling, the former mob lawyer said, “I told him about the old days where if you wanted to kill somebody in Las Vegas, probably not good to do it, rather kill him in California or Arizona. That’s changed with corporate ownership. Now we kill them here.” But seriously folks ... I hope the Dutch guy didn’t take him seriously. Or maybe he didn’t really say THAT. You just can’t take Oscar seriously.
